I wonder how this one will pan out?

quote:

Man dies after being hit with table leg in Pittsburgh's Knoxville neighborhood
quote:

The criminal complaint said Walter Jones was outside of his home when he was approached by three men who were yelling about him having his music too loud.
quote:

Jones claimed one of them had a machete. An argument started and Jones went inside to grab the table leg. Police said he then hit one of the men in the head with the table leg out of fear.
quote:

The victim, identified as 34-year-old Man Pradhan, was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Police said he died from his injuries 10 days later.
quote:

Police said Jones was arrested at the scene and is expected to be charged with homicide.

Did he just keep a spare laying around for hard times, or did he sacrifice the whole damn table?

If he was in Florida, he would have taken off his artificial leg and beat the man to death with it.

If it's it the latter, that was some quick thinking. I guess he didn't have anything else to use available.

"went inside to grab the table leg."

I read that as removed himself from the threat.

I am going with had one on hand. My dad has always had 1 or 2 spare axe handles in key places.
