What Dabo left out was that any of the 8 added to the playoff are still going to be better than anyone he plays in the ACC.

Touché.

Gotta do something to get past where we are now of the same 3 teams every year. That has killed CFB more than the NIL ever will

Super conferences killed college football.

College football is an absolute joke right now. Same 3 teams every year Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State. Once your school loses a game they are pretty much out of the playoffs so what's the point of the rest of the season.

8 would be pushing it… I know this past year was an anomaly but it still tracks with 6 - Aggie and Cincy would have been deserving additions. Keep aTm on the other side from Bama. Hard pressed to find another two though.

2019: I guess Oregon and UGA, keeping the latter on the other side of the bracket from LSU

He ain't wrong.

6 is my magic #. 4 conference winners, 2 WC's(2 highest ranked runners- up) and the top 2 seeds get a bye. 3 plays 6, 4 plays 5. Highest seed left gets #2 and lowest seed gets #1 the following week, just like the NFL. That's how O would do it.

But 8 makes the conference championship games mean something. Right now they only mean one team is trying to keep their spot and the other can't get in to the playoffs. But how great would that weekend be if all the power 5 championship games had a playoff spot on the line.

You mean like the SECCG?

Sounds good, but a terrible idea.

Let’s say 12-0 (8-0) Alabama plays 10-2 (6-2) Georgia in the SECCG and beats them. Should Georgia be the SEC’s rep in the playoffs? Is Alabama automatically out? What about 11-1 (7-1) Aggie?

What if you have a 9-4/10-3 conference champion? Are you really going to argue they deserve a playoff spot?

He is setting himself up to look like a hypocritical a-hole when he is ranked 13th one year and jockeys for selection on national tv. Same ole Dabo
