Any word on Mondo at the olympics?

I know he is competing for his mother’s homeland but I haven’t read anything lately.

At this point, I'd rather some athletes compete for other countries than act like idiotic assholes while claiming to be American.

Sweden just walked in for the Opening Ceremony and all that the NBC crew talked about for them was Mondo Duplantis: Mom is Swedish, he's from Louisiana, very decorated LSU T&F athlete...GEAUX TIGERS

If I could buy stock in Mondo Duplantis right now, I would. This guy is about to become a household name in the US.

He came close to the outdoor WR a month or two ago. Unless something crazy happens, he should win at least silver.

blame the US qualifying process, not the athlete. It's crazy that someone who is already one of the best pole vaulters of all time could miss the olympics simply because of one meet. Our gymnastics team doesn't have a meet to determine who makes the team, the coaches select the best. If the US simply selected all or most of the team, he'd likely be representing the US.
