This exact TV set is very expensive because all the features, but if all you want is a big screen for content like football games and tv they are in the $1300-1600 range for 82-86" tvs. Obviously they have alot less features than a top end model most notably picture quality, but if all you care about is size it will definitely do the job. I picked this one since im personally a picture quality snob from a lifetime of PC gaming and got a great deal.

I sprung for the 86" Q91, but I love my friends and family a little more than most, so no big deal.

I have a 82" Samsung I bought last year for football season hopefully more games will be broadcast in 4k this year.

That is one of the downsides of very large tvs, if the stream quality is low it can look kinda dookey. Not too many 4k games yet.

Do you have to have some special cable subscription to get 4K reception, or is it just a regular HD subscription?

I suppose it depends on the provider. But honestly your best bet for getting 4k streams is gonna be through a streaming service. I'm not sure if it changed in the last 2 years or not, but everything on cable used to be all 720p / 1080p video and was upscaled to 4k before it got to your tv so you were never getting native 4k content. Whereas alot of you streaming sites will provide you with native 4k content streams if they are available.

Nice. I have a 65" q90 and I like it. They're great for bright rooms because they get extremely bright and handle reflections better than any other model right now.

How much did your purchase cost you in reference to your 85” Samsung Q90??
Posted on 7/22/21 at 10:39 pm to Hurricane2020
Know how you feel! I just bought a 55" SkyVue full sun ultra high brightness for my little pirogue for gameday when we are not in Red Stick for the games.

$2600, worth $4000ish. Full warranty, and my insurance covers anything that could ever happen to it that isn't physical damage.
