Do the Saints have a tight end?

I’m sure there’s probably five or six listed on the roster but is there an actual starter in the bunch?

Dude has 15 catches and barely broke 100 yards.

It’s a known fact that it takes tight ends a couple years to get acclimated in the NFL. Although a small sample size, I like what I saw from Trautman.

Trautman showed a ton of promise even if the stats weren’t off the charts. His wheel route is a thing of beauty and he’s a very capable blocker.
I expect him to have 30-40 catches this year and show a lot more flash.

He’s a highly rated blocker already. He can’t be any worse than butter fingers Fleener and can’t catch Cook so I’ll take my chances on him…..
He’s a good prospect.
Still thought we shoulda drafted brevin Jordan in the 4th round instead of the qb just in case he doesn’t work out though.

These morons think everyone on the depth chart is a stud. Saints will struggle at TE this year.

So you think the coaching staff is dumb too? They brought in a veteran back up and drafted no one. They see the potential in Trautman.
Do i think he is going to be the next Jimmy Graham? No.
But I could see him having a 2018 Benjamin Watson type year. Around 40 catches. Around 600 yards, around 5 touchdowns. Which would be good for a first year starter.

Two things about the Saints and the tight end position: They don't know how to use them on offense and they don't know how to cover them on defense.

Trautman has some high end potential and should be ready to play. His pro day showed some separation traits, especially in his 3 cone. He accelerates out of his breaks with his size makes him a tough cover. A willing and improving blocker. Its all there for a solid combo tightend.
