You just have to make yourself find the time. Try this—for the next couple weeks, try to walk at least 1-2 minutes more than you walked the previous day. Start tomorrow with your 10 minutes.
Downloading an app on your phone to track your distance and steps will help so much too.

I have taken 5mg and 3mg in the past. When I take 5mg I wake up extremely groggy. Don't remember how I reacted to 3mg, but I may try going back to that and see if it helps.

Also consider eliminating ALL caffeine.

Caffeine basically blocks the effects of melatonin. Cleanse it all: coffee, soda, energy drinks. It might take a couple of days to adjust but caffeine is bad news for sleep.

I AM NOT A DOCTOR.

I would have to imagine that of you got help with your insomnia, that would help your other issues. The inability to get a good night’s sleep day in and day out can be very taxing and stressful.

Insomnia.

It can cause anxiety and depression. I generally know when I need to talk to a therapist again because I'm staying up late at night. Night time is my time, nobody needs anything from me, nobody wants anything from me, so I can do what I want. I can't disappoint anyone if they aren't awake and require things.

That's why when I get into that mindset, I know the cycle is coming again.

Sleep first and the other stuff will clear up some itself. Your body has to get rest, then appetite and desire to do other things get right. Start with sleep. Did I say sleep? Yes!

If you drink a lot, I’d suggest you stop 100%. Once I quit drinking all of my depression went away.

Exercise.

You'd be surprised how much better you'll feel physically and the more you push yourself the easier it will be to fall asleep at night.

I zone the frick out when I'm at the gym. No stress. No negativity. Just me and the weights or me running.

I take a combo of melatonin and testosterone booster before I go to bed: LINK

I haven't gotten my T levels checked, but this was on clearance at the base exchange in South Korea I was on two years ago so I bought it. It makes me sleep like a baby.

I have an appointment with my regular physician Wednesday and will ask her for recommendations. Hopefully I can get an appointment before 2022.

anxiety problems but when I'm not freaking out about something, I'm usually too worn out/tired to do anything - seems like depression to me. I do have a lot of trouble sleeping, presumably due to the anxiety, so that could be a major contributing factor.

I also suspect I am "on the spectrum" with what used to be called Asperger's syndrome

Sounds very similar to my wife honestly. She's on the spectrum..diagnosed later in life. We also have 2 sons on the spectrum (1 high functioning and 1 low functioning non verbal). They add large amounts of anxiety into her (our) lives.

I don't have many tips on the anxiety or depression that hasn't already been said, but I would definitely look into things related to Aspergers or Autism in general. From my 10 years of living with 3 people on the spectrum, I can comfortably say that EVERYTHING affects people on the spectrum differently than neurotypical people. Things that are usually easy to brush off can stick with a person on the spectrum or vice versa with other things. The psychiatrist will be able to help with this as well.

Reach out to a therapist in your area, one that specifically deals with anxiety and/or depression. Sleep disturbance can be a symptom of both anxiety and depression. It may not take as long as to get an appointment with a therapist (versus a psychiatrist, who can prescribe) and they will have someone they can refer you to for medication purposes (and will be able to get you in quicker). They will also help you get an official diagnosis if you're on the spectrum and help with treatment for that as well.

In the meantime, if you're not taking blood thinners try some chamomile tea about 30-1 hour before you go to bed. That might help relax you enough to get some more sleep (probably where your fatigue is coming from). Try an app like Insight Timer where you can find some meditation exercises. I find if I meditate just a few minutes before I go to bed, it helps with my sleep too. As others have suggested, working in exercise in your routine can also help with sleep disturbance just don't exercise too close to bedtime or it can have the opposite effect.

ETA: Search Psychology Today by your area, but look for therapist instead of psychiatrist (a therapist is going to be quicker to get into).

You need to see a psychiatrist. Anxiety and Depression go hand in hand. You also need to rule out any medical issues that could be underlying this. Thyroid issues are relatively common causes of insomnia and anxiety/depression. Trust me. Don't bother with your PCP. Go to a psychiatrist. You will save yourself a lot of time, money, and frustration if you just start there.

I think you should see a specialist as soon as possible. Maybe its not gonna be the best one, but it's better than nothing and you should definitely start taking some medications. My friend was recently in the similar situation and when she explained everything to her GP, she got an appointment for the next day. Unfortunately she was diagnosed MS and needs to take tecfidera medication for some time.
For sure your insomnia should be treated first, cause that also has an impact on the anxiety and depression. Sleep is a very important and if you body doesn't have enough of it the whole system starts to break.

Don’t go to a psychiatrist bruh they’re just gonna put you on drugs

1 stop drinking and smoking weed every day
2 lift weights every day make sure you do squats at least 5 times a week. Go for reps try like 5 sets of 12 squats. Make sure your form is good
3 take 20k and open up a brokerage account and start day trading. Use more than 20k if you got it. I recommend E*TRADE
4 see if they have open mic stand up comedy in your city and go every week and try to get up there yourself. It’s easy
5 start going to church and get right with the Lord baw. Actually make this step 1
