Watching this dude absolutely tear apart the state championship right now. Calvary will easily win (up 62-33 now in 4th quarter).

His stats coming into this game over 10 games were:
140 for 216
3,102 yards
14.4 ypa
64.8%
39 TD
3 INT

He has 464 yards and 4 TD passing today in the state title game to put up him to 3,566 yards on the season with 43 TD in 11 games.

Listed as 6'1 190, I know Walker Howard is our QB but this dude surely will be seeing a flurry of D1 offers come in after a season like this.

Walker Howard then Manning and/or Holstein. I'm sure other names will flare up for 2022 and 2023, though, and this kid may be one of them.

Yeah this was his first year starting, as a junior, so has his senior year ahead of him.

Was behind a 4-year starter at Calvary previously.

Has there been an Evangel/Calvary (same system) QB that made it? Shea Patterson was an FBS starter but flamed out. Brock Berlin. Josh and John David Booty. Brent Rawls. I bet I'm forgetting a bunch.

Seriously. He gets hit maybe once a game. Throws to wide open D1 WRs being guarded by 5'6 white kids playing both ways. Tough to project what he'd be like in a real football game. Probably sees more pressure in Bootlegger games.

Depends on your definition of "made it"

John David Booty was a two-year starter at USC and first-team All-Pac 10. He didn't make it in the NFL, but he hung around for three seasons.

I would say he "made it" as a college player.

Brock Berlin started for two years at Miami after not being able to beat out Rex Grossman at Florida.

Patterson was a starter for 2.5 years at Ole Miss and Michigan.

I would say Josh and Rawls were busts.

Josh was an all sec QB at LSU.

Josh made All SEC.
His problem was playing at the same time as Rohan. It was Rohan's team and Josh couldn't win them over.

Phillip Deas was the nation's all-time most prolific passer during his playing days. Signed with Mac Brown at UNC, transferred to Texas, transferred at LA Tech and then got hurt. Total bust.

Berlin got screwed over by Spurrier, he was better than Grossman.

Agree. OCS had a terrible defense. Calvary could have scored 80. Level of competition much different than what Howard sees.

He was the second best quarterback on the field today. To me after, watching Hunter Herring for two seasons can't believe he's not higher on the board.

What a great run at QBs in the next few years! Louisiana has had splashes of great runs at QBs but I'm not sure if any like this!

Kid is a good prospect and will be D1 some place. He rolled up his stats against Swiss cheese completion.
