89 points against a State team where half the team has opted out and a mediocre Mizzou squad? Losing by a billion to an average (being generous) Auburn squad which called off the dogs the entire 4th quarter?

Not this year. Too much attrition, too much inexperience. Maybe if LSU had a full spring/summer they would be able to keep it competitive but there is no depth or experience anywhere outside of WR/RB. QB is green, OL is green, entire defense is lost. Bama is going to cruise.
2021 LSU will be right back in the thick of it. LSU 2021 recruiting class might end up being even better than 2020. It will still be a young team but the talent is being replenished and LSU will be dangerous next year.
2021 LSU should be the favorite against everyone outside of maybe Bama and Auburn depending on who they return. Nix will only be a junior next year but LSU should have the talent edge. A&M and Florida will be tough as well.

That's the problem right there. We don't have the right coaches. Not talking about O (although he hasn't done himself many favors so far this season) but a certain guy that on the defensive side who coordinates things.
