Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone have recommendations on a good monitor to get the most out of the XSX? I'm currently using a 75hz 1080p monitor, but if most games are going to support 120FPS and higher resolutions, I'd like to upgrade, but not really sure how much to spend to get the most bang for my buck.
Any suggestions?

Most games will not support 120FPS. As far as I know, this is currently the list of games for Series X that will support 120FPS:
Dirt 5
ExoMecha
Gears 5
Halo Infinite (multiplayer)
Metal: Hellsinger
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
Orphan of the Machine
Second Extinction
ETA: I think there are very few monitors out right now that come with HDMI 2.1.

This will be one of the few reasons I'm actually8 getting the XSX. Is HDMI 2.1 essential to get the 120fps? I couldn't find a single 2.1 monitor earlier.

there are no 4k/120+ monitors with HDMI 2.1 yet. Asus has one coming out this holiday (allegedly)
XSX will do plenty of games at 1440/144 I'm sure, so feel free to fire away on a 1440p monitor. It MAY do a handful of less intensive games at 4k/120, but that will be an extreme rarity. the XSX gpu isn't even as strong as a 2080Ti, so there's 0% chance you see something like Warzone at 4k/120. You'll probably have to pick from performance (1440/120+) or visual (4k/60) modes in most games

So if I almost exclusively play FPS games, going for a 1440p/144hz is going to be plenty for me?
Also what's the deal with Displayport and HDMI 1.4 vs. 2.0? Do I need HDMI 2.0 on a monitor to actually get 144hz?

oh yes. if you've never played an FPS with 110 FOV and 120+ fps, you are going to die when you experience it the first time. sublime

1440/144 can be done with either DP1.4 or HDMI 2.0. DP and HDMI can both be found on PCs and monitors, whereas TVs and consoles stick to HDMI. Anything you buy right now will have HDMI 2.0 so you'll be good
I have a LG 27GL850-B monitor right now for 1440p/144 and it's glorious. $500 but its one of the best out there right now. I'll probably be upgrading to the aforementioned Asus once it comes out (and I'm able to snag a 3080 or 3090 GPU for 4k/100 on Warzone)

Thanks for the info. Gonna keep my eye out for a good sale on a 1440/144 over the next month or so.

This is what I went for when I was looking for 1440p/144hz/1ms for a decent price. I have no complaints with it so far.
