Trip to Vegas last weekend of August.

Want to get some opinions on if I should reschedule the trip to Vegas that me and my GF are planning on going on August 27-30? If I am going to reschedule I was thinking either April or May of 2021. What are everyone's thoughts? I don't want to go to Vegas and half of it be closed. Would Memorial Day weekend be a good time (2021)?

I went for Halloween one year and it was probably my favorite trip to Vegas. That was several years back, but I doubt much has changed. If you do decide to go, get tickets to parties beforehand. The Saints and Sinners ball at the Belogio was probably my favorite. Maxim had one as well, but I don't recall it's name.

Depends on what you are looking to do. August in LV is hotter than shite. The pools will be open, possibly at reduced capacity but that’s not a bad thing at some of the busier ones. The wife and I spent 3 nights at the Wynn last august and sat by the pool every day and ate/drank poolside. Was the perfect relaxing vacation for us at that time.
As of now gambling/sports books are open with certain areas closed to allow more space. Same for restaurants. Seems that if you make reservations a week or two in advance you should be fine.
Of course things are trending downward everywhere so check back in a month. I wouldn’t cancel it yet.

If they have it live, I’m going to the WSOP next summer out there

I talked to someone who just got back from the Venetian last week. She said it was a mixed bag. Casinos were going strong. Many, but not all, restaurants were open. Not 100%, but still plenty to do. They had a great time. I am glad because we are supposed to go the third week in September.

Memorial Day weekend is one of the top 3 “party” times in Vegas (along with Labor Day and NYE).
If you’re into day clubs, night clubs, etc. Memorial Day is tough to beat.

I've heard this. If we end up having to cancel we are going to do Memorial Day weekend for sure.

We’re here now. So far it’s a ghost town. Casinos are open, about half of the restaurants.
No shows or anything. One of our Uber drivers said he expects them to shut down again after the 4th, so we’ll see.

Just got back from Vegas last week. Very strange out there. Several of the casinos are still closed. Very few people in casino and you must wear a mask. The only good thing is prices are much lower than usual and not a long wait at restaurants.

I don’t know if there will be a full shut down, but I’m almost certain there will be some type of rollback on the reopening after this weekend.
I think Vegas gets most of their visitors from Cali and Arizona, and considering both states have scaled back, I can’t imagine Nevada not following along, especially with a democratic governor.

Saw on the news this morning that Arizonans are heading here for the weekend.

Were most of the pools open? Mask in the casino is fine with me but I am looking forward to drinking some overpriced cocktails at the pool
