As much as a vaccine may be needed, legitimate info about transmission is needed more.

The biggest problem with all of this shite is the lack of definitive info about how this shite is transmitted. Why is there not more concrete info about this? First we were told don’t wear masks, now we’re told to wear them. We were told that covid lives on surfaces and if somebody just touches a door handle then everyone else who touches it will get covid. We’ve been told it lives in the air and is transmitted through AC systems. We’ve been given a wide range of ‘safe distances’ between people. We’ve been told that it can be transmitted even outdoors while out on a jog. Now we’re told that big outdoor congregations are not the issue (as long as the ‘reason’ is acceptable to certain people), but then other congregations are condemned if it’s over 10 people. There’s just too much damned confusion. If we had some accepted, indisputable facts to work with, the solution wouldn’t have to be worse than the problem.

The problem is it's all political and none of the "experts" know shite.

My solution has been to turn off the news and live my life normally. I pretend anyone I see with a mask has HIV/AIDS and a weakened immune system. It’s been a pleasant change of pace

The most hyped virus in history and the science is settled. If you question it then you are right wing nut.

It’s transmitted like the common cold (it’s in the same family). Pretty sure that’s already settled.

This is a pretty good article on the topic.

Wall Street Journal
quote:

Six months into the coronavirus crisis, there’s a growing consensus about a central question: How do people become infected? It’s not common to contract Covid-19 from a contaminated surface, scientists say. And fleeting encounters with people outdoors are unlikely to spread the coronavirus. Instead, the major culprit is close-up, person-to-person interactions for extended periods. Crowded events, poorly ventilated areas and places where people are talking loudly—or singing, in one famous case—maximize the risk.
