This should win over some new fans...
Those salty ex college players killing EA NCAA football/basketball is one thing, but damn the biggest club in the world killing Football Manager would only make more people hate them. What a douche move, especially in today's climate.

For those who do not know, FM has a huge modding community. The base game does not have club logos, kits, Brazil’s clubs, Germany’s clubs or the German national team, etc and there are mods you can Install to do this.
United are basically trying to essentially destroy the ability to make these changes.

It won't kill FM. Worst case scenario is that FM changes United to some other name. Based on the length of time, I don't see United having a case here. They had decades to file a complaint.
That's why I see this as 100% solely those fricktards owners and the a-hole Woodward. Sure they are amazing at the business side and have set us up to dominate the transfer market this summer, but they are shite on the main purpose of the club and that's fielding the best team. And they saw an opportunity for more control. Everyone know FM >>>>> FIFA/PES

All it means, is the EPL won't have logo's or kits, and possibly some surname. You will have to download, as usual. The kits for EPL and logos were always a download, because of contract rights.
Just like a few german team names were always their old school names, because of contractual rights.
And Brazilian teams were Abbreviations in some.
No biggie, the community fixes this the day before it launches. Like Skyrim, FM has a great community.
