High jacking STEVED00’s ” Skulsky Leads w/ his Head Every Tackle!”

Clearly in STEVED00’s thread spearing and its danger of concussion, broken neck, paralysis, and death were discussed. Also examined was the reason for the spearing technique, delivering hard blows to knock opponents out of the game.
Obviously Skalsky wears the obsolete horse collar to protect himself from the obsolete spearing technique that is his prime tackling technique.
But what was only slightly touched on, was the responsibility and culpability of his coaches. From the first moron who taught the stupid kid how to spear through every coach who allowed him to spear, they should all be penalized since they obviously will risk Skalsky’s life, limb, and well being in the hopes of winning a game or two by removing (injuring) opposing kids.
I don’t know who first taught him this, nor do I know when. But I do know the latest two.
1) Brent Venables, DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR/LINEBACKERS coach. He is personally responsible for coaching the proper techniques to the linebackers including Skaksky. And as defensive coordinator he is responsible for every defensive player including Skalsky. He allows Skalsky to wear the horse collar, as dubious protection, because he encourages the kid to risk life threatening injury to win games.
2) Dabo Swinney, HEAD COACH. He is personally responsible for safety of every Clemson kid who steps on the field. He knowingly and premeditatedly allows Skalsky to risk life and limb for personal gain.
Both of these men have publicly demonstrated disregard for their student athletes safety. They will not stop until forced to by punishment from Clemson, the ACC, and/or the NCAA. Yes I am concerned for JB and JJ. I’m also concerned for every player that Dabo and Brent attack with dangerous and illegal play. But mostly I fear for all Clemson players “coached” by these two, and for Skalsky in particular.
I’ve raised this before and the down votes fell like rain. Let it storm.

Skalski definitely deserved to be ejected for that hit he made on Jefferson, whether u believe the targeting rule is bullshite or not, according to the rule...it was targeting. I personally don't like the rule and miss the old days when you could tackle however the hell you pleased and we're coached to do whatever possible to dislodge the football and bring the man to the ground.

Our high school coach would pull us out of the game whenever we dropped our heads to tackle. Needless to say, it pretty much eliminated it.

If you notice during the game, the announcers (Chris and Kirk) kept praising him for how physical he was. As a matter of fact, on the play for which he was tossed in particular, Chris says of the tackle that Skalski was "laying the wood" as the play unfolded.

He was called for targeting and ejected. Fine by me.
“Obviously,” huh?

As far as I know, it's not called a horse collar - that's a type of tackle. It's just a neck roll.
But yeah, I agree that Dabo gets all this praise for being an "aw shucks" man of god in how he coaches but he clearly is ok with questionable tactics like this. Hell, even Venables' son came in with a big arse neck roll.

we were taught to hit with our face gear , you see what you and hit what you see this keeps your head up ,dipping your hips was the other part of if you dip your hips it lefts your head up and gives power to your hit , only fools and parapelegics dip their heads when they hit ! No body on our team ever wore a neck brace they didn't need it ! Every practice started with a drill designed to make this a habit we used it for blocking and tackling !

He was trying to channel his inner Dylan Moses and lead with the helmet.

I thought we won the NC and beat the shite out of Clemson while doing so. I guess we didn't??

Every LSU fan would love to have this kid on our team. He plays with heart and he's a vicious hitter. He clearly lead with his head on the hit of Jefferson, which he was disqualified for.

i want to know what and how the SEC home office in Birmingham, Alabama views this decision.
there is a difference in spearing and targeting.
i have seen replays in SEC games where it appears targeting had taken place but no flag was thrown.
in other games a player was thrown out for targeting but it was clearly not targeting.
targeting is definitely an issue that should be addressed. it should not be allowed to change the outcome of a game by any referee.
if a play is reviewed and it's clear that spearing did not take place then the call should be overturned.
