Amazing that Muscogee only has 4 cases with it having the second largest city in Georgia and Fort Benning, which I think I heard is where most of the cases are.

I think it relates to overall general health acumen.

Is it in a nursing home in Albany?

No, apparently officials think the high numbers are from funerals and church gatherings.

quote:

Earlier in the week, WALB reported that officials believe the COVID-19 cases are linked to two large funerals, one at Gethsemane Worship Center and the other at New Direction Christian Church. Officials said there is also a possible connection to Martin Luther King Memorial Chapel.

quote:

Local officials ordered churches in Dougherty County to halt all services -- including Sunday worship, Bible studies and weddings -- until further notice. Meanwhile, funeral homes in the county agreed to hold only graveside services with attendance limited to family members. “I recognize this is a very trying time and that people naturally want to congregate at church,” Cohilas told a news conference. “We know firsthand that has been the predominant way this virus has spread. And I want to emphasize it has spread through this community very, very quickly.”

Most of the Athens cases are in one nursing home which also generated the lone fatality.

If anyone has a loved one in Pruitt Health off of Hawthorne, you may want to start looking for another place.

Why should south Georgia shut down since most of the virus is centered in Atlanta?

Not being glib or insensitive - this was my guess.

There are so many 45-65 y/o or so black folks in places like Albany that have poorly treated/monitored diabetes and the like, I kind of assumed it was ravaging folks like that.

Kemp is better than JBE at least he is telling high risk to stay in.

Now the local level is where people are going crazy.

Good information but the most pertinent data is death by age group which reveals that those who are dying from the Coronavirus are mostly elderly patients with pre-existing conditions.

There’s not a lot of testing in Georgia right now so the fatality rate isn’t accurate.
