Because of testing. We could have found that many in November. It's clearly been around but the "experts" were not ready to find it.

Sorry, in November hospital beds were not filling up with patients like they are now. If the virus was here it was negligible.

Throughout the flu season patients are typically held in the ER for periods of time because hospital beds are full. Flu season is typically the worse time for hospital capacity. Usually alleviates during the spring summer.

They weren’t. Beds were fuller (at least in St. Louis) by far in winter of 2017-18 than in 2018-19 and 2018-19 was fuller than 2019-2020. At least admitted patients. Patients in observation beds has gone way up all throughout the country. But if we had a serious respiratory illness putting people on vents, we would have seen it in the late fall/early winter and they wouldn’t have been on observation. They’d be admitted.
