Did not catch the game but just saw the highlights, it seems the student section came all the way to the
arena floor. Arena seemed to be rocking, really wished I had watched that game. Does LSU do that but only away from the camera? Like behind the bucket? I just don't ever see the crazy fans near the game on TV.

People have got to stop comparing lsu arena atmosphere to fans of schools that only care about basketball and have had way more success at basketball than LSU. This is like comparing Tiger Stadium to whatever stadium Duke plays in during football season. It just doesn’t make any sense.

If LSU wins a couple national championships or just goes to a final four more than once every 15+ years then we can start comparing arena atmospheres.

Take out the media section at LSU and its pretty similar. Distance from the court is the same. They were playing Duke though. Of course it was nuts.

Okay so I take away the part about the same amount of success but Wake Forest still cares about basketball more than LSU. North Carolina is a basketball crazy state. Also if LSU plays Duke at the PMAC I would bet that the fans would show up.

It would be crowded, but I don't know if it would be all that "wild". The students showed up for UK, but I don't think I would describe the atmosphere as "wild" that night.

The crowd for the Tenn. game last season was really good, but the only time the student section got "wild" was the Vandy game when the pitchforks were out for Alleva. That was really the only time over the last several years where you saw a ton of passion from the students en masse.

Obviously the atmosphere needs to get better. But it seems like LSU and the students are in a mexican standoff of sorts. The students say they don't want to consistently show up because the seats suck (they aren't necessarily wrong there). However, I can see LSU not wanting to waste premium sideline seats on students who haven't shown a proclivity for showing up on any consistent basis.

On thing that DEFINITIVELY needs to change is either moving or reducing the size of the media section. It's absurd to give them that much space when there are probably only 10 or so media members that show up with any regularity

Wake has great basketball support and Duke is a big rival.

Point stands.

Thank you! People love our student section for football and they’re both located in the exact same spot.

I disagree. One, we do have a rich basketball history and the deaf dome can be an incredible atmosphere. We’ve seen it before

Second, we should strive to be great at everything and push to better the fan experience. We have an opportunity here with Wade and this success to build into a powerhouse. Auburn has a great atmosphere, Arkansas has a great atmosphere, and even Duke wasn’t always a power.

Wake Forest has 1 Final Four (1962) and has made the Sweet 16 once since 1996. Since 1996, despite the NCAA hammer and Johnny Jones, LSU has a Final 4 and 3 sweet 16s.

We have a better history than wake forest

Your right I just liked seeing those dudes right near the court making noise and wish we could do the same... It would be lame I guess of we pushed students near court and then we always see people on their phones sitting down not jumping around and yelling... (Although that seems to be all I see from the fans that are sitting behind the media bench side anyways) but seeing other school who I think are not on our level of play have better setups/organization to take every advantage really blows.
