247 reporting.

This was a weird one last night. Original reports said that Art Briles was going to be named HC. Then others came out claiming it was Petrino. No one was sure what was what.

the good ole "let's leak out a bad name so that when we officially announce our slightly less* bad name people are relieved" trick.

*obviously debatable

As bad as Petrino is, he's not as bad as Briles.

Good for him. He can get back to motorcycle rides in the Ozarks.

Petrino's 2018 season at Louisville was very odd.

I sometimes wonder whether he was even giving it much effort. But I'm glad he got the job at Missouri State.

You should get some kind of special recognition for the mere fact that you looked it up.

Pretty genius if true.

Does anyone care enough about Missouri State football to be outraged?

I do and it’s a terrible hire. He will leave within 3 years and leave it like he’s left everything else, a mess.

Contract details. He’s making less than Stec. I still hate this hire. But if we can get it turned around (just be competitive first 2 years then win after) and he stays like Bo has at Youngstown I’ll get right with it.

If he failed yes. If he is successful then no. The point he will try to build the program. Might as well give him a try. Will not hurt one way or the other.

Even with an unbelievable star in Lamar Jackson, the best Petrino could do was 9 wins in three seasons with him. Petrino's problem was hiring family as assistants because nobody wanted to work with him. He also pretty much didn't give a shite anymore after the AD who hired him was fired.
