Peloton Tread

used to hit it

I'm a beginner in running and have it and love it. Have owned it since 12/23. It's the first treadmill I've ever had so I can't compare it to a belt one. I don't enjoy the bootcamp classes as much, but I'm doing them to become better at running. They have different classes like marathon prep, hiit runs, hill runs, interval runs, and just plain fun runs. Their instructors definitely know how to teach and train you for a marathon as many of them have completed marathons in their spare time, i.e. female instructor, Becs Gentry completed the NYC marathon in 2:37 and placed 1st non elites (LINK /), plus, there are classes designed specifically for training for a marathon. For runners who don't prefer classes, there are scenic runs or just run which is a blank screen showing pace and distance. The knob allowing for speed and incline adjustment is what really attracted me to it. Some treadmills I looked at had too many buttons and the transition from one speed to the next (increasing and decreasing) took too long to occur. Peloton makes theirs a fast smooth transition which helps when you're sprinting, then wanting to get into a slow jog or walk quickly once your interval is complete. The best advice I can give you is to go to the peloton store and try it out. I was skeptical at first because of the price but after doing a 20 minute class in the store, I knew I wanted one, and took a few days to think it over, then purchased one. They make it really easy to finance for 2 or even three years at 0%. I'm almost done with paying mine off though. Curious to see what their rower will look like next year.

You can do the 0% financing on both the bike and treadmill. It's the easiest process I've ever been through to get approved for credit. If you want to pay cash, you can. But why turn down 0% financing for 3 years? It was a very easy decision for me.

To the OP, one negative that I will say about the peloton tread is depending which area of the country you live in, depends on who may deliver it. If you live within a large metro area with a peloton store located there for example DFW, your Tread will be delivered by peloton themselves. If you lived somewhere way out from that area, Xpo logistics would deliver and there are some problems with them delivering and not actually putting the tread together properly or even at all (see Facebook group, peloton tread and you'll see some of the complaints). I live around the DFW area so I of course had peloton techs and didn't encounter any problems and setup went perfectly but I just wanted to let you know about that issue. The base weights approximately 400 lbs and most have it located on the bottom floor but some have had it taken to their second or even third floors. But again, this depends where you live and whether those delivering will go upstairs or not.

OH and I almost forgot, there is supposedly a cheaper tread coming out next year but they haven't said if the cheaper one will have slats or a belt or a smaller screen than the 32in one that currently comes with the tread but it is said there is a less expensive tread coming out. I personally wouldn't trade slats for a belt as when I took a class on a different treadmill after having my tread for 3.5 months, I hated the belted treadmill I was on and greatly appreciated the slats and the lack of complexity of the tread. The tread is so easy to use that some members have their children use them as long as the child weighs over 105 lbs because anyone less than that causes the tread slat sensors to stop and an alert comes on the screen telling the person this. It's a beautiful machine and I guarantee if you try it in the store, you'll love it.

Oh also, there's free mode for anyone who likes it. I hate it and only use it when I'm in bootcamp classes. I don't like it, but I do still do it to help with training. And for those times when you want to run outside, the app also includes outdoor classes you can take that will tell you when you will turn around so you're not doubling up on your run. I've never used them as I just run using a garmin and music but others have and like the outdoor classes.

You're welcome. They've been delivering in the south Louisiana area since pre-orders of last year so they have experience in bringing them in homes now if you have that reservation. My delivery had its own issue with a tech hitting their head on our light fixture and peloton just credited the delivery fee, 300, and a little extra back to us
