The Kingdom ( 2007)- Jamie Foxx/Bateman/Cooper/GarnerPosted by Lawyered

I absolutely loved this movie...
DVR'd it the other day and remember watching it in theaters in 2007.....
you could've heard a pin drop as they're sweeping the big building there toward the end... it was so intense... great shootouts too...
also... the last line in the movie still resonates with me... as the al-qaeda person tells her grandchild about the West " "Don't fear them, my child. We are going to kill them all," ...

Ah yes, back when Jennifer Garner wasn't just the "What's In Your Wallet?" person.

I spent 2004-2005 on a western DoD compound in Riyadh. I spent a lot of time around the Saudi military. That movie is frighteningly realistic. First time I saw it left me super unnerved.

I feel like that, and hearing Jamie Fox's character say he said the same thing to the lady to calm her down, are supposed to make it kind of anti-war, but I love when that old Muslim leader gets killed. I love seeing all of the terrorist in it die. That's why I watch it any time it's playing.

One of my favorite re-watchable movies.
The Jennifer Garner fight scene is a top-10 movie fight scene. She absolutely gets her arse kicked. Only survives out of mere luck.
Love watching that movie. And as someone that has spent a fair amount of time in the Middle East, it is very accurate in many ways.

Yeah, I always pick this movie when discussing movies with great endings on this board. Great soundtrack too.

I did the same in the early 90's @ Jeddah as well.
I second your opinions on this flick...frighteningly realistic. The westerners mentality in dealing with the Saudi's and vice-versu was spot on.
Made me feel like I was back there again, eating a shwarma and waiting to see the next unbelievable thing just waiting to happen

Opening scene was okay but the rest of the movie made no sense.
Made all the sense in the world. Most of the depictions in the movie are very accurate. What didn't make sense to you?

Super easy movie to follow.

Awesome movie. And the last 20 minutes or so are incredibly intense.
