They're going to impeach. They've gone too far now.
I don't agree.

I believe the Dems are desperate to find a face-saving way out doing something short of impeachment.

Does anyone else agree that this is her most attractive option at this point? Does anyone think that she would NOT be able to get at least one GOP rep to vote yes on a formal censure?

Yes it's their only out which is exactly why they won't take it. They are going to send this to the Senate.

However, ALL of their frickery will come out in the trial. And the media will be forced to cover it.

Fingers crossed, but I doubt it.

I guarantee you that at least 3 GOP reps would vote to censure Trump. I actually think that over a dozen would.

Its possible.

But if I were the republican leadership in the House and Pelosi came to me with this I would enthusiastically tell her its a good idea and we can get our membership on board.

Then sandbag the b!tch and vote no

Trump needs to tweet he supports all GOP house members to vote their support of the Impeachment being advanced to the Senate for a formal trial so he can face his accusers as well as call his own witnesses to the stand.

No thanks. Trump needs this shite over as soon as possible unless he has a blood oath from 34 Republican Senators.

Republican Senate wants a trial because it would make them unbelievably powerful.

They would hold Trump's fate in their hands.

Remember Trump thought Bolton could be the whistleblower initially.

Who knows what Bolton may say and Bolton has a lot of friends in the Senate.

It's too risky in my opinion.

I hope it dies in the House.

A House censure would be a home run for Trump.

Republicans need to demand a vote. That's it.

Either make them tuck their tail between their legs and end all of this or force this to the Senate, a place Dems clearly don't want it now.

While I understand the thoughts, you forget that in an actual impeachment trial, the President is afforded extensive leeway from President's legal counsel to call witnesses, and the Senate cannot refuse to call those witnesses. Trump's attorney's would have a field day and new testimony would likely bring with it new charges of espionage, subversion of justice, witness intimidation, lying before Congress and treason upon many people from his AG Barr.

Dems are not going to allow that to happen. A censure vote in the House is all they're ever going to get. They just want it to drag out as long as possible before they have to do that.

This is not necessarily true at all.

The Senate will make the rules and I do not trust them.

No witnesses were called in Clinton's trial. None.

The Senate tabled it and later decided to substitute taped depositions for live testimony.

I do not trust Republicans in Senate and a small number of Republicans can stand with Democrats to prevent rules that would favor the President.

Simple majority covers rule making.

You don't think Romney and 2 others wouldnt side with Democrats on rule making?

Forget Romney, I don't trust a single one.

If these snakes are whispering in Trump's ear that they have his back, he should be looking for the knife.

It makes zero sense for Democrats to pass this on to the Senate except for one scenario and that is a commitment from 20 Republicans to help them remove Trump.

I'll remain very concerned about that until this is over.
