Some of that is overblown a bit - he backed his teammates and made some bets with White during camp - really I wouldn't want anything different.

I was really referring to Joe's benchmark which was when he arrived on campus and then had to compete for the starting position. This differences we are making really doesn't matter - Joe is competitive - that is for sure. However the point is that he has grown over the time at LSU and Miles has the same opportunity.

We really don't know about the competitiveness of Miles at this point. He is the backup and acts like it. Lets let Miles get his chance and see what he makes of it.

The one thing is that Joe is very different and really prefect QB that you want leading your team - those dudes are just hard to find, simply put.

How great all that is for Joe, at the same time, that doesn't mean Miles will not be successful.

Not sure why I feel like defending Miles - guess he is getting more hate than he deserves this early, but these distinctions I have made leaves the possibility for Miles to be great, or just so-so.

I know that sounds silly, but it's that same vibe Rohan used to put out there. Hopefully Brennan gets some confidence in mop up duty this year and we start to see more of that.
Brennan is still on develop pace as Rohan

If Brennan is the next in line, Coach O has to get him more playing time in the games we can afford to.

NW, Utah st, maybe a series or 2 in vany, OM, Ark(depending on game situation).

Can't be 5 minutes left and handoff

This is the shite that Les Miles used to do in his first three years at LSU.

You need a tutorial on what counts against a recruiting class, and what counts against the 85 Scholly cap!

That sounds good on paper, but kind of has to be the plan earlier on in the cycle. At this point we are already looking at a shortage of slots where we could either have to turn away 4/5* recruits who want in or drop guys already committed. Making room for another 2 slots would be pretty rough to pull off.

I kinda disagree. If a burrow, fields, hurts, Mayfield or the likes comes about... U gotta have a spot. I am not so sure the OL or other positions translate though... The QB position has to do with decision making and brains not all on talent... Like do u think Fromm is a baller? What if GA picked fields and Fromm was in the portal.....

For better or worse
THE GAME HAS CHANGED

I agree. It is my understanding at this time that grad transfers use to not count against the recruiting class limit (? Joe Burrow for example) of 25 but now do count (ex. Cole Tracy) against the class limit. Under grad transfers have in the past and still do count against the 25 recruit limit (Fehoka for example). Also undergrad transfers have to sit out a year (Fehoka, and kelvin Joseph at Kentucky). Of course all football scholarships count against the 85 man limit. Giles and Alexander (and Tracy) both counted against the 2018 recruit class and were immediately eligible so I would guess they were all graduate transfers(?)

So I guess my knowledge of how transfers work is pretty vague on the rules. Is the transfer portal for undergraduate tranfers only (which you do need to leave room in your recruit class for unless you can forward count them), but have to sit out a year (which means they would be of no use in helping the 2020 team)? However it would be useful to leave a space in the class for a graduate transfer who could play immediately on the 2020 team. Do graduate transfers go in the transfer portal or are they handled separately? I don't know WTF? help me out here

For the record.....Joe Burrow attempted 39 passes in three years (one was a redshirt) at Ohio State. All in trash time. Not what I'd call an experienced QB.

Miles Brennan has attempted 42 so far and I suspect he'll get a lot more attempts as the year goes on.

In my opinion LSU not will sign a transfer QB this year. I think the staff has confidence in Brennan contrary to what some fans think.

I also think there is an issue with signing any grad transfer this year. I heard there is a rule about grad transfers getting their degree and if they don't you lose the ability to sign anyone else for two years. Not sure about that but it's what I heard. Terrance Alexander was a grad transfer from Stanford last year that left the team immediately after the bowl game without finishing his academic work.

We need to save a couple of spots for after the early signing period for 5 stars that announce after the early period. If we get them great. If not we have spot for portal transfer

Wow really?? That's super disappointing he didn't finish... He was on scholarship so it was free until he finished right??? Was he run out of town bc of aTm?? That's fricking sad if that's the case, dude played pac12 and sec football that means he was talented I hope that's he is coming back to finish and no ill will

I'm just not sure Brennan has the intangibles that Burrow displays.

Joe oozes confidence, leadership, and swagger. Even as a new guy last year you could tell he was "the man".

Myles has more of those intangibles than you think.

You don't really see great OL guys transfer very often because they aren't usually pre madonna's like skill guys and also usually aren't expected to start until jr or senior year.
