It’s a terrible idea still in my mind. How many vegans or vegetarians are there? On top of that, how many are going to be desperate on the run and say hey let’s stop at Burger King.

Why is it terrible? Imagine if these places never tried anything new.

The Impossible Whopper test markets saw an increase in traffic. There are multiple angles they are playing with this thing. What is the worst thing that happens for BK?

I also wonder if we will have such easy access to cheap beef in the future, with climate change. Or God forbid, you have a horrible outbreak of mad cow. To me, it's a way of these fast food places hedging their bets in case something awful happens.

I used to be a fan of the Subway veggie patty. I think they took it off the menu a while back.

I'm not sure I want my flame broiled Whopper cooked on the same surface as an Impossible burger. Could contami ate my burger.

I dunno. I'm not saying it's going to happen. I just wonder if it's a possibility. Although it may seem likely you would open up more areas for cattle farming, like northern Canada, Siberia, etc.

BK is cooking those burgers on the same grill they use for real meat

When I was a wee lad, BK had these conveyor broilers upfront in the store where you could see them in action. BK was awesome back then, a Whopper with cheese was 46 cents and delicious and you could get them your way!

Now, not so much.

I don't understand why Burger King felt the need to create a veggie burger. They really think that this is a big market they are missing out on? It just doesn't make sense
not sure what the big deal in this thread is about BK having a veggie option. Is it healthier than their fries? Probably. And since when is BK known for being healthy.

Ex - vegan so I have no care in the world if it’s there or not, but surprise!!!!!! sometimes vegs want a quick meal too. It’s not a big deal

I’ve never had the impossible, but I’ve had the beyond burger. No it doesnt taste like beef. But if you haven’t had a burger in years it’s delicious to be able to have a “treat” and feel like you’re having a burger with everyone else.

Good for BK for putting the veggie burger back on the menu. It had disappeared for a while. I still won’t get it but not sure why so many are disappointed about it m

Imo they are adding to their menu for the many people who are being manipulated into being vegan because of the fake social media bs, not in fear of cow shortage in the future.

Pretty soon there will be fast food restaurants with only plant based meat options.
already happening in San Diego, and other cities in Ca.

And yes, they are busy. Not as busy as McDonald’s, I’m sure ... but enough to stay open.

I had it at the airport at Qdoba yesterday. I didn’t like it... I took one bite and picked the impossible off and just had the veggies. I prefer the beyond burger

my friend told me yesterday it’s actually tested on animals so it’s not even vegan which made me giggle.

You act like its some uber expensive menu item they've invested all this time and money into creating. Its literally the same ingredients they've always had on hand + a frozen already-made veggie patty that will last ages in their cooler. It would be silly not to have an option this cheap and easy on hand.

Also - BK has had a veggie patty (Morning Star brand) for years. They're replacing it with a different brand. How is this upsetting to people? Just don't order it.

I find it ironic that the same people who scoffed at "mystery meat" in school because it was a soy burger are now willing to pay an extra dollar for fake meat.

I’m not sure what Burger King is going for here. The Impossible burger with bun and all is not really healthy at all.

I don't think healthy is even on the radar. It's for folks that think it is gross to eat flesh. Which is weird because what they like about the Impossible Burger is that it has the most flesh-like texture and taste.
