This article is from September 2016

A cell of radicalised French women guided by Islamic State commanders in Syria was behind a failed terrorist attack near Paris’s Notre Dame Cathedral last weekend and planned another violent attack this week before they were intercepted by police, the Paris prosecutor has said.
The women, aged 19, 23 and 39, were arrested in Boussy-Saint-Antoine, a small town 19 miles (30km) south-east of Paris, on Thursday night after they were linked to the discovery of a car packed with gas cylinders parked near the cathedral last weekend. Officials said the women had been planning an imminent violent attack on the busy Gare de Lyon station in Paris and were stopped after a police and intelligence operation described as a “race against time”.
The Paris prosecutor, François Molins, said one of the women arrested, who he referred to as Sarah H, aged 23, had been engaged at different times to two French extremists who themselves had carried out deadly attacks this year.

..I mean, an electrical fire.
I'd hate to have been a Muslim electrician working on this project
Can you imagine "HONESTLY...it was an accident! I was very proud to be working on this. I just made a mistake! Why won't you believe me?""

I thought this was a football thread at first.

Eh, the French would never attempt to make that accusation otherwise, half their city would go up like the cathedral

The conspiracy theories will live on forever.
I'm not much of a conspiracy theory guy but this sure looks suspicious.

Flames could be seen near scaffolding — high at the top of the famous church where $6.8 million in renovations were being done — and billowing smoke was seen from miles away in the French capital.
Macron: 'It is our common history, and it is burning.'
The spire destroyed by the fire contained artifacts considered sacred to Catholics, including a relic believed to be from Jesus Christ's crown of thorns. Relics from Saint Genevieve and Saint Denis are also feared lost.
Michel Picaud, from the Friends of Notre Dame organization responsible for the renovation efforts at the cathedral, told NBC News that, to his knowledge, the church's organ and stained glass windows were not damaged.
"The entire roof is fully destroyed," Picaud said. "The fire started up near the roof top while another fire started in the north bell tower."

You will never convince me that Macron gives two shits about Notre Dame burning.

There was repair work going on at the Notre Dame. I have to wonder:
1. What was the religion of the repair personnel?
2. Are any missing?
3. Did any small group come in together, from a foreign country? (For a major attack such as this would be, they send a group, not a "lone ranger".)

If this was an act of terrorism, an electrical short would be a wonderful way to start a fire.
