Finally headed back to Louisiana for a trip! Can anyone provide feedback about which of the following areas would be best?
Irish Channel near Louisiana Ave?
Mid city between Carrollton and Broad/Canal and the 10?
North of uptown around Carrollton and Jefferson?
Thanks!

The best for what??
What do you want to do while in New Orleans? Do you want to be by the streetcar? Do you want to walk to eat? Are you looking for a hotel or an Airbnb or a B&B?

Depends on what you want to be near and what you want to do.
Hyatt is my go to. Easy in and out, pretty close to most things and pretty good rates.

If you want boutique hotels that aren’t part of a national chain with New Orleans’s Old World charm, check out Valentino Hotels.

In-law is looking at different airbnb’s. I think that mainly they want to go to the quarter. My wife wants to go to Cafe du Monde daily. We will have two infants with us and will probably rent a vehicle.
So the question is more regarding safety I suppose.

Riverside Hilton. Lots still to do if rainy and CDM in the Riverwalk. Centrally located for French Quarter and casino.

They have some nice B&B in the lower 9th ward if you want a traditional nola feel.

Parking is a premium and you will pay for it in the Quarter. Uber is everywhere and might be a better option.

Then why not stay in the quarter?

I suggest not spending most of your time in the quarter. And Cafe du Monde isn't worth a daily visit.
Not sure when you are planning this trip, but there is a new Cafe du Monde opening up in City Park soon. That is a way better option that dealing with parking and crowds in the city.

Stay near Magazine, there are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance and the streetcar is close. There is a beignet place at New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood on St. Charles that is good if you don't want to do the FQ location every morning.

I second this. My wife and I stayed at the Lafayette Hotel (St. Charles Ave) for Fleetwood Mac a couple months ago. Great location and charming hotel for a great price. It was less than $200.00 per night if I remember correctly.
