I’m wondering if this rash if decommitments is related. They got wind of fbi before this news broke?

What stuff? LSU was informed that there were 2 issues in question. One of which is not an NCAA violation and another is the employment of an athletes parent from 2012-2015.

It could be a tennis players mom working in medical billing.

There’s nothing there. Everyone needs to read before panicking.

meh. roy got reevaluated and now feels like everyone needs to "show him a lotta love". things change when you become a 5 star. now the world owes him. he's gonna take his summer concert tour.

turner- he's an out of state kid that wants to look around. he's probably feeling a bit of a squeeze from the wr numbers and possible signings.

It depends on 2 things 1) if the employment of an athletes parent can lead to probation or 2) if the investigation is prolonged and does not wrap up quickly it will definitely hurt recruiting.

We have to be innocent and we have to get this resolved ASAP and I mean this Spring.

Only in the sense of other coaches telling stories to recruits. Also the longer our admins keep showing their ineptness. No real harm but perceptional my maybe.

Every recruit the Tigers are recruiting will be hearing about the OLOL situation. It's a "look what I found" gift for the Bama's and A&M's fight for the best players.

NOT the same commit. There had been rumblings/innuendo on this board about another who is STILL committed.

ETA for the uninformed down voters:
Find one thread talking about Turner decommiting. Now count the ones for Abrams-Draine.

We are our own worst enemy. This OLOL story is absolutely nothing as far as LSU athletics is concerned, yet everyone has been worried about it for months because of baseless rumors and the board was in an all out panic yesterday. It's pathetic.

Will it hurt recruiting? Maybe. It certainly gives opposing recruiters something to talk about. But it's our own damn fault for turning pretty much nothing into a story.

From what angle would be my question?

I see alot on here, not necessarily you OP but the virtue signalers, that assume or promote the idea that recruits are going to take the same moral stance as some of these posters and shy away from LSU. I laugh at the idea.

If anything, being shady gins up more interest from recruits, and yes some parents.

Now, from the angle of the compliance department clamping down or NCAA probation/suspension/penalties, sure that would definitely hurt recruiting.

The one place I do not see a widespread issue looming is in the perception of recruits (only).

This is so comical. People are reacting and freaking out and this shite is getting so old!!! Go read the dumbasses on SECRant! Saying LSU football stole money from kid cancer patients! My God, this is a complete cluster frick!

FBI??? This was a BRPD/EBRSO investigation into the OLOL Foundation and embezzlement. Where are you getting FBI involvement? Conflating investigations, maybe?

ETA: The report released yesterday is the work of a third party (Deloitte) outside accounting firm doing an audit of the books of OLOL Foundation.

Shoot, if I was a recruit I would be more interested in LSU now.
