Pels to be Reborn

Losing AD may be the best thing to happen to us. We will build depth alone through the trade this summer. Demps must go. Gayle may wake up and see that football people stay with football. Potentially 2 top 10 picks (based on trade surely). Maybe this is exactly what we need.

I really like the idea of Jrue being the unquestioned leader of a group of young talented players. His acumen on the defensive end is an excellent influence on young NBA players, if the right coach/system is in place.

It's what we need, but it's a travesty it's got to this.
AD gets drafted to the Spurs and they have 7 rings already

If the Pelicans drat Leonard they have 7 rings already.

Lol no. This team needs a fricking leader.

I don’t believe that by the way. It was a response to the dumbass above.

It really is a damned shame.
After the Portland dries, I thought we were headed in the right direction. We never could bring in the wings we needed. Twocould have done the trick.
I don’t blame Gentry, really. Dell made a couple of moves that were right for the moment, but had no plan for building up a reserve of talent. And I’ m not someone who thinks you sacrifice everything for draft picks( a crap shoot).

I am a bit more realistic, losing Davis is going to hurt. Even with two top 15ish picks, some trade pieces and a ton of cap space, we are still going to be a very bad team next year. If we are smart we stockpile future picks, focus on developing talent and spend wisely. That is all in direct opposition to our current strategy. Which tends to mean that we should clean house to facilitate the rebuild. But I am not sure that is going to happen..

Maybe we should form a committee and come up with a few ideas to present to management and ownership. I’m sure they’d be receptive and set up a meeting for us.

Now is the time and they have a chance to DO IT RIGHT! The key to all of this is as many have said. THEY NEED TO LOOMIS TO STEP BACK, CAN DEMPS, AND BRING IS SOME REAL, FIRST CLASS BASKETBALL PEOPLE! Until that happens it will not matter one bit what happens, how many players, or picks we get!

If they have Jrue, Tatum, Smart or Brown, they aren’t going to be that bad
If they end up getting Zion then yea probably. Because they’ll do a full rebuild

I’m just excited about the opportunity of a fresh start and by all accounts with actual good leadership. Yeah

The Pels will never be good.

As long as they're not reborn as the Supersonics...

Well that was an easy hot take to destroy.

If we get #1 overall by some act of God I think we still make Boston trade and that team is immediately in the playoff discussion next season
