PS4 Pro

I am seriously debating a switch to playstation from xbox and would like some input on pros and cons. I dont play much multiplayer but enjoy single player games quite a bit and Sony seems to have some solid exclusives. Any advice system wise and game wise would be appreciated

However true, the quality of exclusives are much better on PS vs Microsoft.

If you're more into single player stories I would certainly stick to Playstation.

Sony destroys the Xbox when it comes to actual games.
PS5 comes out next year though so I wouldn't recommend either upgraded console.

I have a PS4 Pro and Switch. For single player games I would definitely go to PS4. On the Pro do you want to spend the extra and what to do you have? PS5 could come in a couple years.

Horizon Zero Dawn
Shadow of the Colossus
I think these alone will make your PS4 Pro purchase worth it.

I bought a pro back in September. Wish I would've bought one sooner. The base PS4 isn't as bad off as the base Xbox One, but going from the base PS4 to the Pro, it's easy to see how developers are allowing substandard performance on the base consoles whereas PS4 pro is "usually" locked 30 to 60 FPS.
Even a game like Dynasty Warriors 9 which is borderline unplayable on base hardware is more than playable on the Pro.
I think though that if I was not so heavily invested in the Playstation brand at this point, I would get a One X. All multiplatform titles should look and run better plus One X enhanced 360 and original xbox titles are nice bonuses.

Great games that make a PS worth it. I'll also add in the Yakuza games as a wonderful series. They remade 1 and 2 completely for this generation (not just a graphics bump). They introduced Yakuza 0 as a prequel and rolled out Yakuza 6 to finish the series. You can also play 3-5 on the PS4.
I'm also a big fan of The Show. The Road to the Show mode is a fun way to kill off 15-20 minutes here and there, too.

The only thing diff is the buttons on the console, which suck more imo, and it plays the games that can in 4k. Id just go with the normal ps4 for cheaper, but i dodnt have a 4k tv.

The Pro is absolutely worth it if you have a 4K HDR tv. Ghost Recon Wildlands for example is like a different game on my set up vs my brother’s.

Never played on a pro other than my own. My tv is 4k HDR 120fps though, and when I play on his (non pro ps4, 60fps 1080p tv) I wonder how he even sees people to shoot them. Especially at night.
