Has anyone heard that he might be up for another gig? I mean, this wouldn't come as a surprise but damn, it would suck!

I wouldn’t think Nicholls is a destination job. With his success I could see someone coming for him.

What other gig? Can you expand at all on what you're hearing?

I don’t know, he’s a South Louisiana guy, through and through. I don’t think he’s looking to go anywhere unless it’s considerably better and in the Deep South. He wouldn’t go to a MAC school, for instance.

25 years ago, 1AA head coaches made $75K, and those were top 1AA programs

Why not? A MAC school is a big step up. It would also pay a lot more than Nicholls.

At his age and with how far a $ goes here I would be surprised if he left?

I was told that he also has all of his working years with the state and he’s close to his 30 years. That may have a factor in his decision.

Rebowe was named Nicholls’ 10th head football coach on Nov. 21, 2014. He was originally given a four-year contract worth $130,000 annually.

He's not leaving

Worked with Rebowe years ago. He’s a Nichols guy to the bone. Only schools that would peak his interest would be larger Louisiana schools like UL or Tulane. I seriously doubt he’d leave Louisiana. His connects are strong down here.

His next step, should be choose to take it, would be a coordinator at a non P5 school. Extremely unlikely that Nicholls gets you a FBS head coaching job

$130k was his salary from his initial contract. He got a 4 year extension after last season, with a substantial pay raise from everything that Ive heard

Whose all the Head Coaches becoming coordinators at non P5 schools? It works the opposite way - you work as assistant at a non P5 school maybe a OC/DC and land a Nichols - McNeese type of job.

Yes that happens too. Or non-P5 coordinators become coordinators at P5. Or S Eastern's coach becomes a ULL assistant. But a head coach at Nichols isn't becoming head a head FBS coach, barring multiple appearances deep in the playoffs. A coach at a higher profile FCS school does on occasion. He could get a pay increase as a coordinator at numerous non P5 schoo.s
