Looking at something like the Smartthings ADT or simplisafe setup. Does anyone have any experience with these and Pros/Cons?

I just set up a Simplisafe system, couldn't be happier. Very easy to install and easy to add sensors whenever you want.

I have the remnants of an old ADT system, I don't know if it would be worth trying to fix that one or go all new. I'm not too concerned with the monitoring at this point, but would like the ability to for the future.

Ring is awesome and cheaper than the rest, plus unlimited camera cloud storage, $100 per year or $10 a month. I did a review in the Ring Alarm thread from my install a few months back. Still really happy with it.

If it's a Honeywell or DSC motherboard, you can add an Eyez-on module to connect it to the internet.

CubsFan have you installed the Eyez-on module? This seems like the route I'd like to take

Any tips or anything about it?

Not really. It is set up the same was you would a physical keypad. I've had it set up for over a year now and don't remember having trouble setting it up.

Only thing I'd be sure to do is run the ethernet cable in your wall into the back of the panel box.

Just an update, I installed the envisalink and it achieved exactly what I was wanting. It allows me to self-monitor and remote arm just as I wanted.

Even researched and use an app called DSCServer, which allows you to integrate it with Alexa (as long as you have an old Android device laying around)...

Thank you for the suggestion

I have had Abode since August and really like it. The hub isn't as obnoxious as some of the other carriers and I can run any z-wave device through it and manage it with the Abode app.

Yes

Front Point. I just installed it 10 days ago and I love it. It was simple to install and it is stand alone that runs off cell towers.

I think I paid 239.00 for the system and monthly monitoring is 49.00

I don't have a home phone or internet so it has to run off cell towers. I can live with it.
