2017 F-150 - Axle Slack

Noticed a bunch of rumbling going on with my truck a few weeks ago. Brought it in last week, and they told me it was a broken leaf spring and leaking shock - so, they made the repairs. A day later, the same rumblings were happening - probably even more so.
Brought it back to them today, and they said it's slack in the axle but Ford doesn't have a solution to the problem yet. No recalls at this time, but I need to make a case with Ford.
Any of you have a 2017 with the same issues? Or any of you have some similar cases? Sounds like this 'process' is going to be a pain in my arse.

What rear end? 8.8, 9.75? The axles in these trucks hasn't changed in decades, they don't go slack or whatever BS those mechanics are telling you. C-clips can break but that is far more than just being slack.

As someone who dealt with a major engine issue with a new car, document everything. Every phone call, who you spoke with, etc... make sure you have every service record available just in case as well.
Good luck, hopefully you have a dealer who will fight for you as well. Get the Regional Service manager for Fords info or whatever title they use. He might be your decider.

shite - wish I could. Not a mechanic by any means.
I just picked it up, and their notes are:
"13635 slack in axle. As of now Ford has no recommended repair for this issue."
Hung up the phone with Ford Customer Service to make a case. We'll see how this goes.

Is it the actual axle(s) or the driveshaft/pinion? You can lose preload on the pinion but you'd see a noticeable leak of axle oil if it was bad enough to make noise. Ford Sterling 9.75" rears are very serviceable, you can replace pinion seal and bearing without pulling the rearend apart. There is a way to check it out yourself but you'll need a friend or you'd have to lift the back of the truck on jack stands.

I'm thinking the tech could be talking about the slip yoke problem. Not sure if that was still an issue in 2017.
Eta: Just re-read the OP. No idea what a rumbling could be. Noises are hard to explain to other people

I have the same issue with my 2016. They told me it was normal. It's aggravating

Any noise in the driveline is abnormal. If the pinion has lost preload then it's going to cause excessive wear to itself, the pinion bearing, and the ring gear. It can also knock out the pinion seal, OEM's design the cover for the minimum amount of oil needed so any leaking out is a bad thing too.
Sterling 9.75" rear
If it looks smaller than this one then it's the 8.8". Neither should have any noise issues.

Had the same issue in my 05 and 10 F150sz. So far not in my 16. Never found out what it was, but it got worse over time.
Never was a noise but you can just feel it when taking off. Like stuff is turning but the tires are late to start going. Feels like slack like he said.

A neighbor of mine bought a brand new 2018 earlier this year and after a week he started having, what he said, very noticeable vibration.
Took it in the the salesman said that they couldn’t find anything.
Took it home and it was still doing it.
Took it back and rallied to the service manager. He told him what it was but Ford didn’t have a fix for it. Took him outside and showed him that he had about 10-15 trucks with the exact same problem.
He got his money back that day.
ETA: it was an eco boost f150

Take it to another dealership and see what they diagnose. Wouldn’t even mention you already had it looked at.

"Quality is Job....ah frick it."
I would contemplate driving the mofo THROUGH the showroom in a forceful and reckless manner.

My dad just got an '18 eco-boost. I'll see if he has the problem next time I'm in Mandeville, and report back
