ascension or Livingston?
Are you wondering why Erwinville can’t be Prairieville?
Main thing is schools..... Ascension is a consistent top 5 Parish In the state. All the east bank schools are A/B schools while the ones on the West Bank bring the score down. ( perhaps that is why there is minimal developement on the West Bank of Ascension as well).
Plus when your two main sources of revenue in that “town” are Raxx’s and McDonalds, then you probably aren’t gonna be expanding anytime soon.

Hopefully whenever WBR does start to really develop they do it right unlike Ascension and Livingston with proper drainage and a gridded street layout. All those developments with one street or no outlets are a big part of why those areas have the traffic problems that they do

Planning is key. Texas builds a 2 lane road but declares a right of way for a 4 or 8 lane. As things get busy and more communities are built , no worries. Add the two additional lanes you planned for.
Heck. There is one two lane highway eventually planned as an 8 lane freeway with service road system. Funny to see businesses way way off the road, but that's called good planning.
WBR has a ton of potential to become something special.

Amen. Unfortunately I don’t think the municipalities or the state will ever get it right. The shitheads who hold state office rise up through the municipality ranks. They learn to make the shitty decisions at the local level.
Sadly, I don’t think I’ve seen evidence yet that there is a seed change for hopes that one day this state will get it together. It seems like the shitheads just keep proliferating in La politics.

It will never change in my lifetime. My daughter has 7 years of school left and I think we are out.

Yep, I’ll be moving when i retire. La. Will always be my home state, but I’ve had enough. Time to try something new.

I'll be 47 when she's done and my work isn't tied to this state. I can find work in most areas of the country actually and will need less money as an empty nester.

The Brusly side is growing pretty fast. The only down side there is crossing the intercostal bridge.
that intercoastal bride is a nightmare every day monday through friday in the afternoons. Only way I would live in WBR is to be north of the intercoastal bridge. Also, I10 east is a cluster just about every day as well.
I don't know why Home Depot or Lowes has not built a store on the west side. That place would pull in major business.
