I mean Gyno proved my point. Wilson had a tear in college with a good completion percentage.

McShay is tripping hard, Jackson is not a 1st round pick, 2nd maybe, but def not a first. He is a project that needs some work before he can become an effective NFL QB, he is no Patrick Mahommes.

5 year player compared to a 3 year guy.

What will be a 21 year old rookie vs what was a 24 year old rookie.

Players can improve. That was his point

McShay has no clue, just creating a story! Not saying he is a bad QB but he just doesn't fit Payton's offense

OK he has a big arm and can it get down the field, but that doesn't make him a great QB. Evan in his younger days Drew could go maybe 65 yds but he's a Hall of Famer

I know Browns need a QB, but if they got Saquon and Roquan @ 1 and 4. That would be nuts. 2 damn good players that will instantly make a difference.

unless you truly believe Lamar has franchise QB potential, I don't want us blowing a first round pick on him. By the grace of some really strong drafts we've managed to re-open our window, I'd just prefer to address immediate needs now. Maybe I'll feel differently if we just crush FA

Even these QBs that have been going in the top 5-10 have huge question marks. QB is like any other position, nothing is guaranteed

These instant contributors are the exception though, not the norm. That’s not something we can count on every year. We are young in a lot of places, one day we gotta stop putting it off and get a QB. It’s one of those things everyone hates in the present but down the line will be like “we should’ve drafted so and so”

Doesn’t necessarily have to be Jackson, just a guy Payton believes in that has intelligence and makeup to work in this system

Velocity scores from the combine are in, Jackson had a Deshaun Waston-esque 49mph on his throws.

TBH his arm plays much better on tape. I think maybe he was dialing it down in order to be accurate.

Late getting back to this thread, but arm strength is only a part of "arm talent".

The way Mahomes can spin it, his release, his accuracy, and his ability to make those throws without his feet completely being under him is what shot him up the board.

I just don't see that kind of ability from Jackson. Now, if he shows that stuff during his workouts, he will shoot up the board. But, I'd be surprised.

I think we knew someone who could throw the ball from his knees 75 yards.

If we’re taking a QB there, I’d rather take Rudolph from Okie State. But as it stands I expect us to take Malik jefferson or a TE
