Looking at getting a sound bar and sub for my new house. I know nothing about sound so any recommendations would be great. Not looking to spend over 1k.

This may be the best under $1k soundbar: Definitive Technology You can add additional rear wireless speakers later.

I've owned 2 Samsung soundbars and both have been very solid.

I bought the definitive technology micro on sale for 450. Very happy with it so far.

I don’t think that’s under $1k.

I have this Vizio 5.1 system with wireless sub and rears. The sub is thin enough to hide behind the couch or even under it.

I’m surprised how good it sounds. At $500, it’s a great value.

Vizio may not be what one thinks of with speakers, but the reviews are great. I love mine. Don't need the remote either as my cable remote turns it on as soon as I hit the volume button.

It would be right at 1k. You could get it down a hundred or so if you purchased open box items.

Just a touch over 1k as the playbar or playbase is running 699 & sonos currently has a special on the ones @ 2 for 349

You are going to need to give more details.
1.)How big is the room you are putting the bar in?
2.)Do you want to or are you open to adding onto it in the future?
3.) What kind of compatibility and functions are you using it for? Just a plug and play or do you want Bluetooth and app options?
