Y'all keep saying that? Who? Name them! Jimbo and Herman fricked us, plan and simple!

What? You are arguing that Jimbo, Herman and O are the only coaches in the NCAA?

If I'm mistaken, and that's actually the case, then Alleva did a bang up job.

If that's incorrect and there were at least 8 hires made that were much much better than O, not to mention the 20 or so head coaches who we didn't even ask, or the 10 or so VERY VERY gifted coordinators out there who will get a shot soon then those are your names..

Mullen, Briles, Kelly, Kiffin, Frost, Fleck, Fuentes, Gilbert, Brohm, Aranda, Sumlin, and Frank friggin Wilson are some that almost anyone would have taken over O. Or at least preferred that we offered.

At this point.. I'd guess that several would switch out O for McElwain..

Dave Aranda - Not ready and who knows if he wanted it

Jeremy Pruitt - Reach and literally no one mentioned him at the time for a P5 job!

Mike Norvell - Good lawd, 18-8 overall record and 0-2 bowls. Again his name was never even mentioned and there is a reason he is at Memphis.

Dan Mullen - Would have never left State for LSU. The job he is at would be the only one he would have left for.

Lane Kiffin - Wasn't ready at the time, hence why is is at FAU.

Scott Frost _ Same, wasn't leaving for any job other than Nebraska.

Nice try though!

So you're saying that after Jimbo and Herman, the only available option for our Top 10 program was our current DL coach and his sub .500 career head coaching record?

Literally NO ONE else...just those 2, and Ed?

See...this is why we can;t even begin an intelligent discussion about this, because I can't even pretend you're being fricking serious with this shite. Defend the man all you want, but suggesting that he did us a fricking favor because without him stepping up and bailing us out we'd have had to go find some junior high school coach to come and coach us is retarded.

C'mon...

You don’t know any of that for sure.

You’re just speculating

But if I listed A guy who was like 10-25 as a HC with 0 bowl appearances where would you rank him on that list?

Because that’s O

Skip Holtz is a better coach than Orgeron. So is every other HC at every other college IN LOUISIANA.

There are 130 FBS schools and I would argue O is in the bottom 10%. So there are at least 117 guys who could do a better job than O. That does not count assistants, or NFL guys.

Orgeron would not be in the top 150 of my short list if I had to make a hire today.

They could have walked down the hall and asked him if he was interested, but that would have taken effort.

Not like all the schools beating down O's door to take a head coaching job, right?

Mike Norvell - Good lawd, 18-8 overall record and 0-2 bowls. Again his name was never even mentioned and there is a reason he is at Memphis.

That overall record is at least above .500. What's O's record?

We didn't bother to interview him or anyone else, so we don't know that.

Again, no interview.
