I'm looking to possibly make the trip next month seeing as how it will be the last time my oldest will have the chance before starting high school next year.
Any tips? Will there be enough opportunities for autographs? Anything to do at the facility before and/or after the games? Any of you baws have any hook-ups?

Went see Braves Yankees a few years back. It was packed but think it was because of all the NY fans. Plenty of autograph opportunities. Also a lot of former players show up as assistants. Very laid back. Would recommend going if you get the chance.

Just bring your patience. The place is a traffic nightmare.

I went when I was 8 and then again at 18. It’s a fun time. We only went to 2 games at Disney the last time but went around the state following them for a week. It was fun going to the other places more than it was at Disney IMO. Traffic and parking just suck at Disney and most times the opposing team has more fans.

When I was 8 got tons of signatures and probably 6-7 batting practice Hrs. Two from Galarraga and got him to sign those. That was definitely a lifetime memory for me.

It’s too expensive at Disney. Better to try and see them in Jupiter or elsewhere

Disney sucks as a spring training site. Its always packed with other sporting events that make it terrible to get around.

Ive been twice. If you are looking for autographs inside the stadium, go to the berm as soon as it opens, the batting cages are there and most players sign. If you get there really early, you can head to the back fields, and there will either be minor league guys there, or possibly MLB players getting work done.

The last time I went(maybe 8 years ago), I did both and got autographs from pretty much everyone on the team at the time.

I've been twice. Also been to majority of Spring Training sites in FL. Braves definitely one of the worst

I've been several times. Yes, it's expensive, and traffic is horrible if you try to get there about an hour before gametime.

I think parking opens three hours before gametime.. go then and hang out in the back fields. You are guaranteed to get several foul balls and if you follow the minor leaguers you will see them walking around between fields.

I'm not into autographs but there seems to be plenty of opportunity if you get there when the gates open.

They have a craft beer stand down the first base side which is a lot better than the standard American light beer offerings.

They are moving to south Sarasota County in the Venice/North Port area in 2020. Should make it even easier to visit ST sites with so many on the Gulf Coast between Tampa and Fort Myers.

The only one Ive been to in Florida that is worse is Lakeland(Detroit). It truly is a dump, and there really is no access at all.

Havent been to the new site for Washington/Houston, but my favorite will always be Dodger Town in Vero Beach. I loved that old school place.

Honestly, just Uber there and back. It's super cheap and easy.

They recently remodeled Joker Marchant stadium in Lakeland and it is much nicer now. I haven't been to Dunedin (Jays) or Bradenton (Pirates) in a while but those two were in need of a facelift the last time I went there.

I’ve been on St Pats day several years ago. Both my kids got foul balls. Got your autograph as well. Dale stayed for probably an hour after the game signing everything.

Stadium is meh. Servers others a bit of a drive away.

I've only been to Spring Training once in my life. Went to Disney back in 2015 and saw two games.

First - it was crazy expensive. I'm talking ticket prices and food/drink being as expensive or more expensive than a regular season game.

Yeah, you can sit on the lawn or berm for cheaper, but I'm not doing that.

Second - it was hot as balls. That's to be expected for a game in Florida, so I'm not complaining about the temps. That said, the stadium, for whatever reason, was not built with shade in mind. There were very few seats that had any shade at all. I didn't really care so much, but I had my pregnant wife in tow, so of course the experience was affected by the bitching that ensued.
