Yep. I played for a prominent Houston club and we used to clean up in Louisiana tournaments. Competition just isn't the same.

One reason has to be that there are no Division I programs in LA... And after that of course only the NOLA Jesters if you can even call them pros...

I still will always believe that the good high school teams are a bigger deal than the clubs... Attendance and media coverage is key

Semi-Pro. For what they are they do a really good job at running the club and have pretty decent attendance.

With Title IX I don't think you will see any D1 colleges add men's soccer. Not sure what support is like elsewhere but NSU women's soccer team has pretty good support.

As of now I think LC and Centenary are the only two in-state schools that have men's soccer.

They beat 5 teams from Florida and multiple teams from Texas that year throughout the year and had multiple players go d-1

There isn’t much of a crowd unless it was a big playoff or state championship game. Think it was 7500-8000 people in attendance for the state championship between Jesuit and Brother Martin about 15 years ago

My HS team won state a couple times back when dinosaurs walked the Earth in the early 90s. When the weather was good - there would be a couple hundred people in the stands for our home games. More during the playoffs. While it wasn't exactly a recruiting hotbed - I know at least 5 of my former teammates went on to play Division I soccer (myself included). Pretty sure there were 3 more that eventually played Division II/NAIA on scholarship. Of course - about half the team played select as well since the two seasons' games didn't overlap...
