To do what, get some BBQ in Memphis? Catch a few shows at The Ryman?

Take with a grain of salt, but a co worker is a tenn alum, and his buddy ( supposedly a former board member) says he’s been offered 8 m

If that is the case, players should be getting paid

If he’s so great, then why are we so thin at key positions?

Good point !!

I'm not sure what his title or job duties were under Miles. NOBODY ever heard of him until Eaux became the LSU head coach and got a waiver so Austin could recruit in place of Pete Jenkins.

Gruden has been rumored for every major college opening since he quit coaching the Bucs. He’s not leaving ESPN.

Link he's going to Tennessee? He hasn't coached in college in more than 25 years. ESPN isn't giving up MNF until their contract runs out in 2021, and they're not cutting him regardless of layoffs elsewhere.

If he coaches again, it will be in the NFL, and there's more smoke he's going to Tampa than there is he'll be in Knoxville.

When it comes to college coaching rumors, I've never seen anyone being more coveted that has done less to deserve such adoration. The guy developed one quarterback in his time as a QB coach/offensive coordinator/head coach, and that was Rich Gannon in Oakland. And Gannon was a veteran who Gruden was able to turn into an NFL MVP. I'll give you that one.

Gruden rode the Bucs defense to a Super Bowl win in '02, and then delivered two playoff berths in his last six seasons in Tampa. He was a good NFL head coach, not a great one. His offense was a major, major liability his last six years in the NFL, and he did not develop a QB after Brad Johnson (who was already 34 when Gruden got there) left.

I don't know why so many people have such a hard-on for Gruden's potential as a college head coach. Not sure if they're physically attracted to him or mesmerized by the jibberish he spews on Monday nights.

know this is probably a fail, but who is Austin Thomas?

This is really not a bad question, someone who doesn't follow recruiting religiously wouldn't know who he is. Since Eaux got the waiver for him to recruit - LSU signed two players who were ranked the best in the nation at their positions last year. Both were from Tennessee. Austin is from Tennessee and he played a HUGE role in signing both of them.

this. his desirability grows every year he's out of coaching. he has this "mystical greatness" that never manifested itself while he was actually coaching but began when he quit (fired). imo, the worst thing he can do for his career is return to coaching and be exposed.

is very (very, Very, VERY) unlikely that Gruden goes to Tenn; however, since we don’t play them every year and Alabama does, it would be beneficial if they could get a good coach and field a competitive football team.

If theyre that good then we're still going to have to face them in Atlanta (or somebody that beat them) if we are where we want to be.

Theres no running away from anyone in this conference.

It would be nice to see one less cupcake on Alabama's schedule though

Landry Football Podcast did a breakdown of this a few weeks ago. Basically said Gruden is a genius when it comes to breaking teams down and attacking their weaknesses, but he does a poor job developing talent, even in the NFL. For him to be effective, he needs veterans on the offensive side that he doesn't have to develop or simplify his offense for. All that to say, he's a bad fit for a young NFL team and would be even worse in college.

Not a bad listen

You naysayers believe Thomas is leaving yet?

Gruden to UT
THOMAS to join him.
MOFFITT has been offered...considering his options...
