After competing with Bama I really liked the direction we were heading on both sides of the ball. I really thought that were going to dominate Arky from the outset of the game. I know we beat bacon by 3 TD's but as I was watching the game from the West Upper Deck it seemed like we were playing down to our opponent. Especially early in the game. Was it just me?

Well judging by foreign object that marks down the points I'll say better

The 5 points left on the board by a kicker having an awful game made it seem worse than it really was.

Remember we beat them 38-10 last year, should have been the same score this year too.

Don't know if we were playing down to the opponent but the team seemed a bit off the first half. Part of that could be the 11:00 start. The second half the execution was much better.

Our kicker lost us 5 points that game. And i think it was Sullivan that dropped a perfect pass in the back of the end zone, should've ended at least 45-10. We made mistakes with our younger players, we are gonna be fine.

1 game was against the #1 team in the country, at night, with the SECw on the line

The other was against a Trash 4-6 school at 11am.

We played better against Bama but they didn’t allow Arkansas to hang around in the 4th. They came out in the 2nd half and put the game away.

I know statistically and at various times throughout the game we executed better offensively against Bama than in 2016, but people keep talking about it being a well played 24-10 loss on the road to Bama. What I have not seen on here is the fact that Saban elected to mercy knee inside our 10 yard line to end the game. If he doesn't do that, the score is most likely 31-10 (our D was gassed by that point) and it is a different narrative. Basically, while more entertaining to watch..it wasn't much different than last year.

Newsflash college football teams don’t play at the same level every week.

I was concerned there would be a letdown after the loss to Bama. Plus I was concerned about the early kickoff. But hey they shook it off and went on to win. Quite of few of these young men had to mature fast against some brutal competition. IMO they did us all proud. So far this season has had it all. The low moments, and the high moments, and everything in between.

Such is life....

Except we went for it on 4th down from our own territory to desperately try to get to within a score. Dummy.

And the game was close. It was 2 big plays by Bama and 2 big plays by us away from being a win for LSU. Lots of opportunities missed by our receivers and QB that were the difference for our offense and a couple busted coverages by our defense that were the difference for our defense. The scoreboard reflected a beat down. The tape tells a different story.

There was a post-Bama hangover, but not nearly as bad as in past years. Bama played like shite vs MSU too.

Agreed.

I see it as the first half was not playing down or sleepwalking, more of just poor execution that got corrected at the half.

The D was obviously playing well and aggressive in the first half. The playcalling on O was also "attacking" in the first half, we just made mistakes that mooted the playcalling.

Kicking game was obviously sloppy, and we didn't execute terribly well on offense in the first half, along with a few penalties that shot us in the foot. We still moved the ball on them, just couldn't get the points early on. Second half seemed to be a combo of us blocking better plus wearing them down.

Overall our defense played pretty well but I hated to see all the missed tackles. There were a ton of them. Fortunately Arkansas sucks so they weren't able to do much about it but other than some of their long passes it seemed all of their yards came after we missed a tackle. A lot of those were in the backfield so it's not all bad, but if we tackled better it probably would have been a good bit more impressive of a victory.

What kind of dumb rant shite is this. Did we lose the arky game in a parallel universe or something? Running back had 150 and three touchdowns...qb throws for 200 and 2 td's...receiver had 100 yards...only gave up 10 points...hell we even covered the spread. If we had those offensive stats against bama we win. Kill yourself

The only reason they had the ball here to begin with is LSU went for it on 4th and 21 from it's own 20 out of desperation with the clock dwindling. I think I went over this a few weeks ago mentioning that LSU and Bama both physically crossed the 50 only 3 times. This game was very even with the difference being one player.
