What about Johnny O?

He's collecting a paycheck from an NBA team. Even if he never plays a single minute he made it TO the NBA. Making it IN the NBA is a totally different concept.

His stock was not gonna improve with another year.

How many posters are going to mad when Ben Simmons is an incredible pro player?

Just want more 4 year type guys like a Tasmin Mitchell, not leave at the first sign of potential money. I can only imagine how some teams would have turned out if they stayed longer.
Tas wasn't drafted, that's probably why he stayed 4 years. He was a tweener and wasn't really suited to the NBA. Blakeney likely won't get drafted either but the others are a bit of a different situation, especially Davis and Martin. IMO if you are a 1st round pick, which means a guaranteed contract, I think there's too much risk to come back.

My wording was weird, I think he'll be a very good pro player. I just meant he has made it to the NBA, but it remains to be seen if he will make it as a player...just like every other rookie.

Should have is relative.

He was the SEC POY in 05-06 and returned for his Jr. year. that saw LSU crash back down to the middle of the SEC pack and their HC get fired in midseason. Still, Davis was drafted. You could argue he left a year too late.

Jarell Martin
Was a first round pick. And with Simmons coming on board Martin may have had a reduced role (in the event Mickey stayed). Still, you can't blame a likely first round pick for leaving.

Jordan Mickey
Would have been the missing piece on the 15-16 team. His loss was HUGE. It left Simmons to do all of the inside scoring, rebounding and defending, while also playing outside. Mickey covered up how shitty Jones' teams really were on defense. If he remains in the frontcourt with Simmons I fully believe that season turns out much differently. Even with Jones as the coach! He probably should have stayed, but he was picked just outside the first round AND signed a seven figure contract. Can't blame him for leaving.

He definitely should have stayed. The 3 guys above were all drafted in the top 35 picks. Blakeney doesn't look like he'll be drafted at all. I think a new coaching staff could have helped him and his pro stock tremendously. Unfortunately, we'll never know

Most probably don't really care. But I'm sure those who saw his documentary really would love for him to fail.

Johnny O played 3 seasons at LSU.

Stanley Roberts didn't go straight to the NBA after LSU. He spent a season with Real Madrid in Spain and then went to the Orlando Magic.

Kentrell did not have the chest to stay and compete for playing time with the other big men. He missed a chance at playing in the Final Four and Tyrus blew up that year. Kentrell got mad and left because he was not stafting an intrasquad game.
