Going the more fiscally responsible (and perhaps riskier) route, by offering Kirby Smart 3 Million and the head coaching job, Tyson Helton (Western Kentucky OC) 500k for OC (almost 5x his current salary), Promote O to DC (you've got a proven DC at head coach so that transition should be easy and it would also help retain the recruiting class) with a raise (maybe 1 mil).
So you're looking at something like a 2 million per year drop in administrative costs.
That should give you some money to either throw at Frank or hire a decent replacement.

As I have said in other posts, if Kirby was such a great coach, Bama would have committed to him as coach in waiting.

I am not aware of a single program that currently has a "coach in waiting" -- does that mean that no schools have good coaches?
that having been said, no to Kirby. We're getting Jimbo.

I wouldn't be opposed to this. Not only do we take Alabama's defensive coordinator, but I could imagine we'd start beating them for some top notch defensive recruits as well.

So with a Ruth's Chris budget, we're going to go order a steak from Ryan's. Yeah -- that makes sense.

Sabah is the DC, not Smart. Smart just makes the calls, but Nick is listening.

Would rather Jimbo or Chip Kelly.

Uh, no.
Kirby For DC? Sure. Not HC

For that salary, we might be able to actually hire an up and comer with actual HC experience.

If serious, no. Paying a Head Coach $3M and then giving them the built in excuse of having dictated his coaching staff is not prudent, IMO.
