Has anyone else noticed Barnes hasn't been the same since the Bradysteamroller rolled through Texas in 2006? Prior to that season he was giving UT great results. It's like he quit after choking with that loaded 2006 team he had
As for this Texas team, to call it disappointing would be a massive understatement. We might beat K-State, we might win a a game in the Big 12 Tourney, we might make the dance if we're able to do the both. Doesn't change the fact that it was a ridiculously underachieving year with the talent on this roster. Outside of a miracle run to the second weekend of Madness, nothing is saving Rick this time.

Heh, of course. What the hell I was thinking?
Congrats on #11. One of these days that streak is gonna end. I just have no freakin idea when.

Barnes was stupid for keeping Isaiah Taylor in the game during garbage time against Iowa while up 20. He then broke his wrist. Should have never been on the floor at all.

I'm not a basketball guy, but I allowed myself to get wrapped up in the preseason hype, just to dull the pain from our abortion of a football program. So, of course, we go in the **** tank.

they better win a couple in their conference tournament.
if they lose the first one, they will enjoy hosting a game in the NIT.
50/50 they can even win a home game. Might be La Tech if Tech does not win its conference.

Texas doesn't deserve to make it beating OK State or not

It's amazing how much Barnes career at Texas has paralleled Mack Brown.
They hire both coaches from the Carolinas within the same year.
They both bring immediate success to underachieving programs. (Barnes won the Big 12 Title in '99 and Mack had a Heisman winner and Cotton Bowl win)
They both raised the bar in the recruiting landscape and started owning their state.
Obviously both became national powers at one point or another.
Tons of pro players coming through there after rough years.
And then they both had similar declines. The denial existed, and reality is setting in.
Barnes was great for the program. he certainly elevated the status. It's just time for them to move on I think.
