Here we go, another "insider" hipster article about New Orleans. I can't fathom how someone professing to be a food writer in New Orleans determines that Commander's is some well-kept local secret. Which is too bad, because it's an otherwise solid list.

After reading her bit about Commander's, I think she is referring to Commander's lunch with 25 cent martinis being more the local secret than the restaurant as a whole.

I thought the inclusion of Bacchanal on that list was odd, also. I love the place, but its always jam packed.

I read that list yesterday and am confused by three or four places on the list.

Just a misleading title. The sub-heading is more apt:
"An insider's guide to the best places to eat well in the Crescent City"
Also, the last sentence in the intro:
"It is in that spirit that I offer you an honest list of places that this New Orleanian finds indispensable"
