The timing of Hickeys looked like it could be grades, but looking at everything that has been involved, it seems to me that Jones just wants everyone to buy into what he's selling. If not, you can leave.

I think Anthony had a good relationship with Trent. TJ went to his house and talked "very nicely to me and my family", when trying to recruit him. I just think he respected Trent.
I say this because I was at the team's year-end dinner last year. At that time Trent hadn't quit, and he called players up to the mikes in groups. When he got to the Freshmen, he teased and joked with Hickey & JOB.. Those 2 appeared to like him.
Trent gave no hint of his plans at that event and quit within a week.
About a week later, the whole team came out to help at a T ball game for a special needs kids organization I help.
I asked Anthony if he was surprised by TJ's departure, and if he was going to stay. His answer was "yes" & " yes", but he was obviously upset, I even doubted that he would stay (Trent's replacement had not been found at that time).

When CJJ came in, my guess is that Hickey didn't warm up to him that quickly, I think a personality thing. CJJ was looking for Anthony to be a leader, maybe? And pressured him. CJJ can be pretty intense.
After one of Anthony's suspensions Jones said that he "just had to grow up".
It seems to me that CJJ is molding Hickey into a true team leader point guard, with "tough love" sometimes.
I know Anthony is capable of being that leader - he is now at times, but not a 100% of the time.

This year, the SEC is so badly looked at that the only team that would give LSU a "Quality win" would be Florida. I truly think people need to lower their expectations on NCAA Tourney. While I think it is very possible for LSU to go 3-1 to finish the regular season and possibly make the finals, I don't think that would be enough.

The SEC will most likely only have 2 MAYBE 3 bids. LSU wont finish in the top 4 so I don't see us getting a bid. Seton Hall has fallen off pretty good in Big East play (2-13) which really doesn't leave us with any quality wins.

This. The SEC has the 8th rated conference RPI. We have 3 teams with RPIs in the 200s (and LSU lost to 2 of them unfortuantely). The SEC is the weakest I have seen in forever.

I have a real CSB about this one.....our church had a family retreat about a hr NNE of Birmingham. Gorgeous country, but in the middle of nowhere. I knew tip off was 12:30 and around 2:20 we had a break, free time, etc. Told the wife and daughter I was going to the car to hear the end of the game and I'd be back in a little bit.No TV so I started the car up and started riding around to hear the end.

When Alabama was up by 10 and had the ball, honestly I started heading back 'cause I figured it was about over. In fact, the Alabama radio announcer made the comment "a 'Bama basket here and LSU waves the white flag."

As you can imagine, I wound up driving and driving and driving. Pulled back in the lot about an hour later and they're like what the heck have you been doing?

Nice work. The only part of the game that I was able to see was a replay of the 3rd OT. Damn, it was tough to watch. They tried so hard to give it away.

yep. they moved it around and johnny got going. and you're right about contesting shots. it's not like they are in terrible position, most times they just don't even put a hand up.

LSU is 4-1 when Carmouche makes 5 or more field goals.

Huh. I've said all along how ADP is cool and all but Coleman needs more minutes.

SoS, is this for the overall season? My impression is that he has struggled somewhat against SEC opponents and that's why he hasn't had a bunch of minutes vs SEC teams.???
He was awesome earlier in the year.

I didn't see the game and was wondering if any of our football players were there and noticeably ecstatic that we beat 'bama?

Did they rush the court? Storm our bench?

Wondered if they relished a win against our most hated foe?
