I heard Darius on the radio with a bluegrass style band, doing a re make of a song. He was lead singer and they jammed the eff out at the end. I wish so bad that he would do that instead of touring around with people like better than ezra.

Amazing that BTE is opening for anyone in BR. I would think there will be more people there for them than Hootie.

One of the last fun rock bands.

Rock is all about "look at me being all artsy and shite. Don't smile, this shite ain't fun."

That is certainly an all encompassing general sweeping assumption.

I wouldn't call hootie a "rock" band either.

Pop-rock maybe.

Pop rock is rock.

The Beatles, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, KISS, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Buddy Holly, Everclear, No Doubt, The Cranberries, Def Leppard, and Maroon 5 are all Pop Rock bands.

Unless you look at the ACTUAL meaning of the term POP Rock.

Since it means POPULAR Rock, you can include bands like:

Radiohead, Muse, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Weezer, Nickelback, Korn, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Perfect Circle, and pretty much every band that can be considered to be "popular".

Sigh. Nevermind. This would be like arguing that mogwai isn't a "jam band".

So you're right

Hootie and the blowfish are as rock as they come
