Had my first St. Arnolds Christmas this past weekend and for all of the hype, I thought it was pretty damn boring.

Abita's quality has declined over the past few years. They seem to be relying too heavily on their past reputation these days.

St. Arnolds definitely has more bite.

I think this year's Abita is better than last year, and I like it a bit better than the SA, and I've done some extensive sampling.

On a related note, I talked to Tim at Mathernes yesterday and he said he read about Calandros getting Lawnmower on TD and called and bitched out his Mockler guy who promptly delivered him some. Picked up a sixer yesterday. Guess my Houston mule (LSUDad) won't have to bootleg it for me anymore.

I don't care much for Abita. I like the amber but I'm not big on the rest of the stuff.

Shiner Christmas Cheer is pretty tasty this time of year. Not sure if you can get it in BR or Nola.

1/2 St. Arnold's Christmas + 1/2 St. Arnold's Elissa = Sailing Santa

1/2 St. Arnold's Christmas + 1/2 St. Arnold's Brown Ale = Pancho Claus

Saint Arnold Christmas Ale in a landslide over Abita Christmas Ale. And I like to support the local guys, but I just don't like Abita's Christmas Ale. And I do like the Saint Arnold. Not a big fan of their Fancy Lawnmower though.

Anchor Christmas Ale beats all of them, but it's impossible to find in a bottle around here. Need to get a growler from the Bulldog.
