This one was recommended to me by multiple people that do not know each other. Curious to some thoughts from here.
TIA

The arguments I've seen is they are still losing a massive amount per vehicle, and why buy RIVN when TLSA is available? I'm not making the arguments, just repeating what I've seen over and over.

They lose money on every vehicle they sell. Doesnt seem sustainable

agree with both responses, thank you.
read up and see that they are about to release two new vehicles in March. also, they have one from -171% GP to -30%GP.....i think those are accurate numbers. the improvement track is what is enticing....not the present day financials.
again, thanks for the opinions.

Chasing the next Tesla is tough to walk away from.
Personally, I have resisted the urge to do this.
Whenever I do get the same itch, I actually just take that money and buy more Tesla.
It’s the only one of these companies that you actually see on the road. Plus as long as Elon Is breathing it has a chance of future success.

The federal government will not allow the Big 3 automakers to go under. This means US EV startups are at a major disadvantage. Tesla was the exception, not the rule. Unless Rivian has the next Elon Musk as CEO, I would not invest in this company.

It's just kind of chopping around. It would need to take out that 14-month range and break $28 to get on my radar.

I don't own any stock, but they make a great product....

I own Rivian and made a similar thread a couple months ago. Short term I think it will continue to run between $15 and $25. $25 is what I think it should be valued right now. They are one of those stocks that sure don’t make a profit currently but when they hit critical mass and can begin selling services they will. I think it literally comes down to if you think they will be here in 5 years. If the answer to that question is yes it will be a lot higher than $25.

They have a lot of inventory. The next vehicles are designed to collect full value of the tax benefits and will be more accessible to a broader market. They have some good partners. Tesla doesn’t have great tech compared to Rivian, doesn’t have great sales forecasted and has a huge multiple. Rivian will make it, but it is slogging through a new phase of people switching from ICE, lack of infrastructure/charging stations and Tesla compressing price to squeeze other EVs out. .

They are ugly and who knows when they will make a penny.
Who knows it will probably make someone rich, there’s just no way I’m touching Rivian or other stocks that hemorrhage cash and show losses into the distant future.

Now would be a much better time to buy than when this thread started. They still have an inventory issue. So much inventory. Tough time for EVs right now, especially one with an inventory glut, high interest rates and margin compression by competition.
I’d be a buyer if it rolls another 25%. I know it is already off over 50% YTD, it there is still some downside to go, IMO.
