Again, Saints could litigate and likely would win at least some compensation and control no matter what. It’s not clear cut like some of you believe.

You replied to me, but sometimes the best answer is I don’t know. There is nothing clear cut here.

Arizona not giving that up.

Probably not.

But they have their QB, and there isn't a franchise-changing player in this draft. Which makes the #3 less valuable but allows Loomis to save face.

There’s two of them.

Will Anderson & Jalen Carter.

I guarantee you Arizona wants to get one of them as well.

Good. I’d rather nothing at all then accept a lackluster package. He left us high and dry. The bed has been made. 2 firsts or frick off to the booth and let the game pass you by until 2025.

You'd rather nothing over a 1st just because you're bitter than he left?

why should the saints give payton away for less than they feel he is worth? absolutely nobody would have entertained the idea of giving payton away for a single 1st round pick before he "took a break". the saints should demand what they want and if nobody gives it challenge the contract in arbitration once he tries to get on somewhere else. I definitely dont think it is a good idea to devalue a high level coaches worth. Whats next, coaches will start sitting out to get traded to somewhere else for peanuts? payton should not have resigned with the saints if he was thinking of leaving.

He's only worth what someone is willing to give up.

As well we should be. That’s the absolute floor based on history and overall view of the coach himself at the time of being traded. Payton is top 5 in the league, that ain’t coming cheap hoss.
