Anyone tried Jambalaya Girl's gumbo mix? Is it better than Kary's Roux gumbo mix, or about the same?

Jam Girl tastes like brown rice. (Vomit.)

Seems to me that most of these mixes are too salty.

Oak Grove was my fave, but after trying a handful to see if any others were less salty and failing in that hunt, I noticed the easy directions and simple readily available ingredients. I also found myself doctoring it up with onions, bell pepper, and green onions. So I just started using the same procedure and quantities on the bag (seemed to be about a cup of rice to 2 cups of stock) to make it without their packaged ingredients and found myself pleased with a better product.

I’ll probably try Jambalaya Girl if I see it though. Only because I like to sample different products.

Most of them are on the saltier side so just don't season your chicken as much.

I tried the gumbo mix a long time ago. Forgot how it was. If I'm going the box gumbo route, it's usually Mam Papaul's, but I enjoy cooking a huge one from scratch and freezing tubs of it.

For mixes, I still like Oak Grove too. I tried Jam Girl and it was Ok. I do like the Slap Ya Mama Jambalaya mix. So for me, it's Oak Grove, Slap Ya Mama, Kary's, and Jamb Girl in that order.

Jambalaya girl is my go to when I'm not making from scratch. Quick, easy, and tasty.
