I think your take is correct. Want an example we've seen before, go back and watch how Clemson used that kid from KS a few years ago.(Can't remember the name). He was basically a LB sized Swiss army knife. He played in a S/Nickel role, traditional LB role and an edge role. His versatility covered up some weaknesses that defense had at LB and in the secondary. Took our all time offense to expose it. One of Venables better coaching jobs.

I’m in, his experience is just what the doctor ordered for our young Lb corp.

Ready to contribute to which is shaping up to be a fast, physical defense in 23.

I think that’s part true, the problem comes when team lineup with a TE or 2 TE and just try and run at us.

Spyingn and blitzing only go so far in those situations.

Yeah usually if they don’t commit on the visit or shortly there after there are others involved and it usually goes another way.

This guy went to Bama and then he came here, and now we're getting Crystal Ball projections for him.

Have a little faith.

I think Perkins will take over a more traditional role thisnyear when he isn’t pass rushing and spying.

You obviously still want him doing those things and then also playing more LB.

IMO, he should be used like the Cowboys use Parsons. A hybrid role of pass rusher and traditional LB, move him around and let him create havoc.

Exactly.

When we play a spread team with a mobile QB we absolutely want him running that QB down and making his life hell.

But we also want him making plays on 3rd and 2
