Wimberley TX - wife getaway

The wife and I are going to Wimberley and staying in a cabin with a hot tub for the next few days.

We like hiking... Looking for suggestions for on food and things to do.

Tia

Pedernales Falls State Park is about 40 minutes away. You can hit Wimberley Valley Winery and Driftwood Estate Winery (no kids) on your way there for an afternoon.

We enjoyed Community Pizza and Beer Garden last time we were in Wimberley. We used to always go to Leaning Pear but I feel the quality has gone down over the years.

If you want to drive to New Braunfels, Krause's is a family favorite along with Pat's Place.

pedernales is well worth it
a bit up the highway from you is dripping springs, where you will find the salt lick BBQ. Bring beer and get your meat sweats

LBJ Ranch and Presidential home is 43 miles from Whimberley
and is well worth the time. It is free and you can also go to Luckenbach, have a beer and listen to music.

Shady Llama is a chill outdoor place with beer and food trucks. Great spot to watch the sunset.
RoughHouse brewing is on the owners family ranch and is another good outdoor chill spot. They have food there too. Right down the road is the Devil's Backbone bar, a great old dive that has really good live music sometimes. Next door to the Devil's Backbone is a biker bar so don't mistake that for Devils Backbone like I did. It's weekend warrior type bikers with a few real ones mixed in.

What's the name of the cabins you're staying in? Looking at planning a trip sometime in 2023 and just started doing some research.

Check out Gruene, Tx. Cool little area. Depends on where you’re coming from. Also check out the Painted Churches.

UPDATE:

We stayed in a cabin called Cozy cabins through AIRBNB and Hill Country premier lodging. Our cabin was off FM 3237. It was a single bedroom with a hot tub and exterior fire pit and grill. Place was extremely clean with interior and exterior wood cabin facade. So clean that they drained the hot tub before we go there and started it up for us. You could tell by the amount of water runoff down the hill.

Cabin was right off FM but secluded in the woods/hills and had a privacy fence. Mornings in the hot tub with my coffee were fantastic.

Food
Dinner was a Dos Olivos and it was very good. Highly recommend the scallops.

Lunch was at 2 breweries and was good... beer was great at Twisted X and Ghost Note are super cool places.

Texas doesnt have good wine. Not in my opinion. None that we tasted was something we would finish. But they do beer right.

Breakfast at Wimberley Cafe was excellent and the coffee shop next door can make a great cortado.

Hiking at Pedernalas was okay. Well maintained trails, but remember its not Colorado. Would be very fun in the summer when you could swim in all the creeks.

All in all its a neat town to relax and have some good food and let your wife do all the shopping at the crafty little stores in town.

Good times.
